Just got my PC a couple of days ago from coastaltool.com (ordered Sunday night), didn't open it till yesterday.

Has anyone else bought tools from them before? It seems mine has a few scuff marks on the casing. Everything else in the box seems new, the pad too. But from the looks of the casing it looks like it might have been used before? And also, when using it, is it noisy? I plugged it in and turned it on, its pretty smooth but i heard kind of a high pitched sound when it was spinning. Is that normal?

I'll try to take pics later tonight when I get home. Just wondering if anyone else experienced anything similar from CT.

thanks..

I ordered mine from CT a few months ago and it was fine. It didn't have any marks on it and it ran smooth. If you are concerned, maybe call them and see about getting another one. And tell them why.

I've only used mine a handful of times, but I don't remember it having a really high pitched sound when spinning. It is pretty loud though. I had no idea it would be that loud. Kinda sounds like a loud vacuum cleaner if you ask me.

I guess it sounds normal then. I was just surprised because like you said, it was louder than i expected it to be. But the movement is super smooth. :D

Loud is apparently normal. I have to crank up the stereo when I use the PC!

I bought mine from CT as well. They seem to be very reputable so I don't think you'll have any problems if you tell them your concerns.

agree, just got mine last week and tested it on a jetta. When i first got it, it was freakin loud. but once it goes on the car, its not as bad. Going to do my car now.

Mine had a bunch of little orange pieces of plastic in it that eventually came spitting out of the motor vents. Dunno what that was about but it's working fine now. :nixweiss

I have done alot of business with Coastal and find them to be the best in the business, I cannot imagine that you would have a problem with them.

Now if anyone is looking for a really cool tool it has to be the Dewalt cordless impact wrench. I have the 14 volt version-from Coastal of course- and cannot believe the power this little guy has. Advertised at around 80 ft lbs and this is conservative. An engineer watched me use mine while I was working on his boiler-removing the tankless coil bolts- and left immediately to get one!

I am about to order my PC from coastal...for the price you can't beat it. Meguiars want too much for it. It now comes with the backing plate and counterweight!:)

I got mine from Coastal too. It arrived way before the other supplies, and with the counterweight and backing plate included it's definately the best deal out there...
