Just got a weird call...

A lady calls me (from a strange area code) and says she is looking at my website, and wants to know what all I include in a full detail. I tell her pretty much everything my website says, and ask her if she has seen my site and she says yes. She then asks if I really can spend 8 hours working on a car. I tell her yes, in some case less, in some cases longer. She then tells me she has a friend who is a detailer in MD, and he told her what to look for in a detailer, and the info on my site jives with what he told her. She tells me that she is willing to pay $XXX (a pretty high amount) and just wants me to work until I hit that amount (kind of strange).

Here's where it gets weird...

She tells me she is staying at a hotel by the airport, and has just come here from San Diego, and has a 10 year old luxury car she would like detailed (the airport isn't in the best area of town, so why is she staying there if she DROVE here with her car and wants it detailed?). She said she is staying at the hotel while looking for a home. Something just seemed fishy to me that she would be wanting to get a detail for a 10 year old car, when having just moved to a town, and looking for a place to live. By the way, she says the hotel has no problem with me detailing on their site.

Anyways, she asked me if I could come look at the car tomorrow, and let her know. What would you guys do? Think I should just look at the car and feel out the situation, and take it from there?

Keep in mind, I typically only detail 1-2 cars a week, so I can take it or leave it.

Take a look at it, what do you have to lose? Bring a buddy if you're worried about something happening to you. Make sure she pays in cash and you should be fine.

Well, the more I thought about it, maybe she is in sales and needs to drive clients around, or maybe just wants the bugs cleaned off from the cross country trek?

Oh well, I will go feel it out - and tell a friend to call and check in on me - LOL
