washed my truck again this morning and ended up with a bunch of water spots yet again. I wasnt going for perfection it just really needed a bath, but the H20 spots are killing me. Obviously the truck is a lot bigger than most cars which makes it harder to get around to the whole thing quickly, but how do you guys keep water spots from forming. Even early thing morning it was pretty hot, and theres not enough shade in my driveway to cover the whole truck, just too big. It's really annoying that I practically have to wash it again, but I need to do something about it, so what methods do ya'll use to avoid this? Thanks

the only way Ive found to wash my black f-250 crew cab is one panel at a time (wash rinse and dry) but if you have shade just do one side at a time and keep it wet at all times
Even on my small car I start from the roof and work my way down a panel at a time. If you use a steady stream of water (no nozzle on the hose) then you won't get overspray on the parts you've already dried.
Using this method, just wash the roof & windows, rinse & dry. Then start on the trunk, then the rear quarters and so on (I park facing downhill so i start with the rear before the front and do the front end last).

hmm, interesting sounds like a good idea. so do the roof (which inevitably gets other parts of the truck wet) then wash then rinse and dry. Then from there do one panel at a time, say the bedside and just wet, wash, rinse dry? Sounds like a good plan ill have to try that next time. thanks fellas
Two things I've tried to avoid water spots while washing the car:
1) Start at the crack of dawn or wait until just before sunset. Yesterday I got up at 5:15 AM and started washing at 5:30 AM. Sunrise was 6:05 AM, so by the time the sun was up, I was almost done with the wash.
2) Keep rinsing the entire car as you wash. That at least keeps the car wet until you can start the drying process.

NXT's spray booster wax stuff eats up water spots pretty well and is easy to use if you just spray it on your hand towel. That's what I use because I have to go to spray-it-yourself-with-dirty-water car washes (apt living). Works nicely IMHO.

try QEW in the garage......i tried to go back to conventional washing...but waterspots were all over....i won't ever look back...
