just broke my foot and sprained my ankle :(

We had to wait for several days for the swelling to subside before surgery. Who knows maybe your fracture will heal properly by the cast/walking boot treatment. One thing for sure, your transit is going to be slower and more deliberate for a while.

slow is the only gear I have right now ... almost fell on some black ice getting out of the truck tonight :wall

Man you could not have picked a worse time.. I can't come down to help ya...

:(

no problem buddy .. I know you are busy right now ;)

You have a thing for that black ice don't you. :) Didn't you just recently fall getting into or out of your truck on ice? Banged your elbow or something? Is a pattern beginning to present here... :notme: :D

good memory ... seems that when it warms during the day it melts the snow and ice and at night it turns into black ice :wall ...it's a vicious cycle ... trying to reach Pockets to come over and spread some salt ... wife almost took a spill too

3 years ago I was trimming trees in the spring ground was soft and I was cutting the top out of a evergreen and the ladder sunk into the ground and I went over side ways.

Busted my left foot but surgeon put a cast on it and told me to keep it elevated for a few days.
I was surprised at how fast it healed.
I broke the same foot twice but first time took 3 months last time 3 weeks so their are big difference in breaks.

Hope it turns out well for you.

Geez, I turn my back for a few days & look what happens!!

Steve, I'm so sorry I didn't see this til now, but I sure hope that you're minding your doctor & mending well!!! Have you got the girls trained to fetch & carry for you?

I could ship you a wheelchair if it would help ... but it doesn't have snow tires :passout:

latest update ... foot is healing well ... about 10 more days with crutches and then hobbling with the boot on for a few more months ..so i guess that is good news  :passout:

The transition to the boot (mine came up just below the knee) was a welcomed one for me. Tossing the crutches for the boot and a cane was like freedom! Soon enough this will be a foggy memory. :)

Anything that requires casting/booting for several months is a serious issue.

no cane here.. i did ask .. they said that's old school and slowed down the healing process :hmmm:

yeah the bone will be healing for quite a while since it takes the entire weight of the body and the tendons/ ligaments were pretty messed up, so the boot will be needed for stability :passout:
