Just bought some Mothers Sealer & Glaze....

And I want to go buy some 3M IHG right now! I want to test side by side on one panel just to see the difference (if their is one). BUT, my common sense side of me, not the crack addicted detailing side, tells me A) I won't see a damn difference and B) Don't go spend the $20 on a large size of IHG (that's the only one they carry locally).

I have heard great reviews about this on the site, ease of application, great shine, etc.

BUT, I have been bitten by the marketing bug. 3M has that name, the "professional" name, the reputation, and it's hard to find, so that makes it cooler.

Why can't mothers put a different label on this, give it to select dealers where I have to pay more, give it some cool name that makes it sound better than all the other glazes, and charge me for it. Then I will for surely think it's the best glaze available.

C'mon, I don't want some consumer glaze that I can buy at a walmart, even if it is better. I WANT A DIFFERENT LABEL, so I feel like I have a special glaze, that separates me from the people who buy their car products at walmart and dry their cars with paper towels and use dirty foam sponges to wash their cars!

Alright, rant over. So my real question is, and I think I remember reading that it is, but is this safe for fresh paint?

Thanks. :)

OK, cool.

So, Forrest, I want a Glaze in a different bottle, with a different label, that is more expensive, and it doesn't matter if the product is any better than your current one. I want it to say "professional" or "premier" on the bottle. The price had better be more expensive, so it seems that I'm getting a better product, that not just the average joe will buy. Work with me, Brotha! :P

:lol adg44 :lol

I totally think if Mothers would do this, they'd take a bite out of the Pro market! May I humbly suggest the options of either a "high class" motif like Meguiar's Medallion line or a "industrial" motif like 3M's products?

:D

While talking with Forrest before, he told me they do have a "professional" or "body shop" line, but I have never seen this anywhere. I WANT THIS! I am insecure enough that I want to spend more for the same product with a different label! I mean every company does this, Zymol, Meguiars, 3M (consumer/professional line), why hasn't Mothers? I love their products, I always have, even in the days before I became sick and started detailing my cars to the extent that my neighbors think I'm crazy.

I'm getting ready to whip out some crayons and a piece of paper and draw myself a different label, atleast then it will be "special".

And stemming off that, come on, California Gold? I'm in Virginia. Why not Virginia Gold? That means nothing to me. If it said "Gold Level" I would think "ohhh, that must be better than 'Silver Level'", and I would be happy.

This commercial product better apply and remove itself! :D :p

anthony - congrats. We now have "Virginia Magenta Super Wazoo Glaze and Shiny Stuff®" available in a 4 ounce bottle for only $45.00.

Since you already bought Sealer and Glaze, just mail me the cash for the difference in price.

Seriously, the Pro products are out there - just kinda hard to find.

e-mail me direct and I'll give you a lead or 2 in North Carolina.

Forrest, now this is customer service! I have always liked you guys. ;) However, you didn't include "Premier" or "Professional" in the title, so I still may not buy it! :p

Have any info I can read about these products? I have never heard anything about them or anyone saying they've used them. I am sure they are excellent products, as all of yours are, so it's a shame. I'll drop you a line.

Just used some of this after the 3M SMR... I couldn't tell a damned difference.

Maybe I'll notice something when I take it outside in the sun. :nixweiss

This is a pain by hand, or I'm just becoming a wuss with this porter cable buffer doing all the hard work for me.

Took your suggestions back to our marketing guru, who is at the Goldenwest exit off the 405 with the cardboard sign that says, "Will Wax for Food".

After careful thought, he revised the name to be:

"Virginia Magenta Super Premier Wazoo Glaze and Shiny Stuff with Professional Secret Ingredients that do Amazing Things®"

Only problem is we had to change the bottle size to 64 ounce to fit the name on the label, and cost is now $642.00.

BUT, we'll serial number each bottle for you. AND, free refills for the first 15 minutes after it leaves our facility.

What a deal......

I just used this last weekend by hand after Meguiars Paint Cleaner (with a yellow pad) and prior to 3M Show Car paste wax (by hand) on my white Honda that I park outside 24x7.

It went on great by hand with a Pinnacle terry pad and removed with tremendous ease with a Pak Shak MF. You are a wuss adg44 (just kidding!) It added a nice, not great, liquid look.

It filled minor swirls and made the paint receptive to a nice coat of the 3M; yet failed to fill in little scratches that are visible only in artificial light.

The car looks great though given its always outside!

LMAO! :D :D :D

I'll have to update my signature now :p

Make sure it's hard to find the product also, that adds to how good the product is! :D
