WOW, amazing, that car was just nasty before! What is that stuff on the hood before? some leftover residue from a bra or wat, how did you get it off? Great turnaround. should have polished that chrome chevy bar on the grill, would have added some extra sparkle.

It was rust under the paint starting. I recommended that he keep the bra off, and he was like, "I'd have to be crazy to keep it on with what you did."

As to what was on the paint from the bra, well lets just say it came from a bird a long, long time ago. I spend a little while polishing that area let me say. :argue

As far as the grill goes, it was corroded as well, I couldn't get it any cleaner.

Here is one more before after washing showing off the swirls.

Nice turn around and an incredible amount of work, I like that half and half front out in the sun picture, you can really tell the dramatic difference. Good luck to you this month.

A guy on Long Island wanted $450 for a black car that did not look 1/3 as bad as the one you did.

Nice job- do not under price yourself.

You do excellent work steve, but i'll reiterate the fact that your are underselling yourself. I would have asked at least 250-300 on that car. You only averaged 15 bucks an hour on that car...Should have at least got double that. you live and you learn i guess

I know I should have. But like I said, I quoted over the phone, which I've learned to never do again.

But hey, 15 bucks a hour for a 16 year old isn't bad. ;) Plus, I had more fun while I was doing it, so while not? But don't get me wrong, I'd charge at least 200 next time around.

right on man, I'm 17 and when i detail i AT LEAST average 25 bucks an hour. Usually around 30-35. Thats great for high school students our age. ANd not only is it a great source of income for the amount of hours we have to work to earn the same as someone our age flipping burgers for 7 bucks an hour, we actually love doing our job. I think having fun while getting paid for it is the best reward if you're actually passsionate and enthusiastic about detailing

To be honest, I really don't loook at the money as anything. I'm currently building clientel, to open up a large automotive detailer facility downtown. I'm going to use that to help pay for my medical school career. I don't want to have to rely on my parents for help.

Thats a great job there Steve, you obviously work hard at paying great attention to detail, and it shows. You made a vast difference to the condition of the car, I bet the owner was amazed at the difference. :xyxthumbs
