another dealership really liked my work when i delivered one of the cars i detailed. so much in fact they called me the next day they called and wanted to see if i could start detailing for them.

they were about to fire the 3 other detailers for sloppy work and wanted me to take over as manager for their detailing department and hire new people if needed.

the pay should be around $20hr

i have a 2005 viper and a families matrix

which one should i drive and why to the interview?

i would not drive a nice car to the dealership. cars get moved around on a daily basis and accidents are bound to occur, same as the bodyshop i currently work for.

If you drive the Viper, you'll be sure to make friends ASAP. I wouldn't even tell anyone you work with about the car for a while. Jealousy is a MF.

I am sure they will have "questions" for you.

What "questions" will you have for them?????

Are they prepared to have an "agreed to time allowance" for vehicles, and all aware, in some sort of written document of these times?

Will it be specific as to what is the average time per vehicle, based upon it's condition?

Can they provide a list of the dealership employee's that you will have to deal with, from cost of materials, selection and purchasing of materials, how they cost out each vehicle, and who is the only empolyee that you answer to?

Just a few of things that if not set straight at the start can jump up in a month or so and create big headaches for you.

If you wish more, let me know what questions you consider important for them to have answers to.

I can't help but think this thread is a subtle "Look at me, I'm cool and I own a Viper" thread... but I digress.

When it comes to the job in particular what you drive to the potential place of employment should not have any bearing on whether or not you get the job. The quality of your work and willingness to work for what they offer to pay you is what counts.

If your future employer is a rational person then I guess it shouldn't matter what you drive... I'm assuming you're looking to negotiate on your compensation ? Otherwise I see no reason why it should matter whether you drive a viper or the matrix ? If your future employer is more superficial than rational then yes it will be easier to impress him/her with the viper, If he's rational then he may think that you're an expensive hire. Then again if the job is only at 20/hr I'm at lost on why you even think about driving a viper ?
