JEWELING --> polish of choice you are using?

I am going to be detailing cars with rather hard clears, Merc, Audi, VW coming up. On the topic of jeweling, I was thinking about a blue pad with PO85RD or trying PO87MC. What is everyones thoughts on pad selection, should i step down further, and what is everyones thoughts on jeweling polish for the MFG I have listed?

Thanks,

Andrew

Noting that I do it by Cyclo, on Audis I do it with 1Z High Gloss or Pro MP using either the blue pads or the white Cyclo ones.

The white Cyclo pad is pretty aggressive for a "finishing" pad (scare-quotes intentional), but on hard clear it seems to work OK. The blue is probably a better choice though...no idea if you'd benefit from anything softer than that, IMO at some point you just don't need to get any softer than soft-enough.

The Pro MP gives a *slightly* better finish I think, but either is OK on the hard clear. On somewhat softer clear (e.g., my '04 GMC) I liked doing it with 1Z WaxPolishSoft (after the High Gloss).

Yeah, I know...I'm just *so* 1Z-centric :o The Menzerna FPII would be another good choice, but remember to do all the real correction before you start the jeweling.which you want to do with stuff that's too mild to eliminate defects.
