Jeffs Werkstatt Acrylic Jett??

I guess im going to get this one :) Its going to be topped with a nice carnauba anyways. If I use a sealant and top with carnauba and after 2 months the carnauba wares off, can I add another coat of sealant?

I say no, but others might disagree. How will you ever know that the carnauba has worn off? I would be concerned with bonding issues.

If you want to apply a coat of Werkstat every month or two, I would recommend that you not top with a carnauba...with the possible exception of using one of the Werkstat products that has carnauba in it. See what they say.

I know that with Optimum, you can use OS and OCW pretty much interchangeably, but OCW isn't a *dedicated* carnauba wax either.

FWIW, I asked Jeff about the carnauba and acrylic compaticility and he said the products are completely compatible. You can put acrylic on carnauba and vice-versa. He only warned that the carnauba didn't have the durability of the acrylic and if carnauba was layered anywhere, it would limit the durability of the whole thing.

My opinion is there is no point in layering different products. Just pick one and stick with it. There are good products out there that already have blended sealants and carnauba in one package, such as OCW, BF Midnight Sun, Fuzion, Collinite 915, etc.

k guys thanks for the help :P Now I'm back to square one, and am thinking about BFWD, this one has a lot of hype. But is it worth the 2x price?

Well, no doubt its a good sealant. It just always amazes me that after a few days of being on the front page in a couple sections of the forum, many people (new-er) start having an interest

In response to the look on darker colors, it gives the look of having an extra clear coat. I like it on my dark blue Honda.

Yep, sounds right to me.

I agree, I am not into topping either....but I should note that I just got some OCW that I will be using on top of OS and BWD. I don't really consider that "true" topping though, but some might disagree.

It's a good sealant. Watch for sales, as CMA has them quite often.

AJT is a very nice sealant. It's easy to apply, and durable in my experience. Expect 4-6 months durability before you feel the need to add another layer. If you have a silver or other lighter color car, it's a must have IMO. The looks of AJT is completely different from any other sealant that I've used.

I have also topped it with a few different carnaubas, Natty's Red in particular. Prime/AJT and Natty's Red is a combo I'll use for the rest of my life on any silver car that I own.

I completely agree with this. AJT is the one sealant that I can truly say gives a look that can be differentiated from other sealants. It simply looks superb on silver with tons of gloss, reflections, and highlights. I love it!

Heh. As you know, thanks to our recent discussions, I have ordered some Natty's Red to see how it looks. Should be interesting.

I use it on my dark green 4runner and I think it looks great. Klasse had a funny silver sheen at high angles (Scottwax I think has mentioned the same thing), but Werkstat doesn't do this.

Yeah, Klasse on black from an angle makes the paint look silver. Werkstat is a lot better in that regard but still has the typical wet glass look of sealants although a touch softer if that makes any sense.

I've had good durability results with Werkstat products and Prime is a good sealant base no matter what you use over it.

On dark paints, Wolfgang, Opti-Seal and NXT2 look best, IMO.

It is the one sealant that I can usually tell just by the pictures.

So after all this I decided that I will in fact get JWAJT and BFWDAFPP. I will use the former for something I need over the winter for durability etc. and the later for everything else. I still have HD POXY and S100 full!! OMG its an addiction I tell you.

BTW I read that Victoria Wax is coming out with 2 new waxes, anyone know what they are like?

Eventually you will narrow it down to just a couple LSPs. I've tried pretty much everything but 95% of the time I use Opti-Seal or Carnauba Moose.

Clearcote's Carnauba Moose for darker colors and Optimum Opti Seal for lighter colors?

I believe that you are talking about Chaos and Mayhem. I should be receiving some pre-release samples of each later this week. Should be interesting.
