1999 Jaguar S Type. I detail this car about once a year, which seems about right considering it is nearly 7 years old and only has 31,000 miles on it. Older couple who drive it to church on Sunday and out to dinner on Friday nights.

Still in excellent shape, just needed light polishing. I got some of the Lake Country variable contact pads from my Optimum distributor and they are just perfect for this car and the curvey hood.

Menzerna 106FF using a Lake Country polishing pad and Detailer's Pride Premium Surface Shield by hand.

=============

2004 Lexus GS300. I detailed it on Thanksgiving morning, using Optimum, Vanilla Moose and Carnauba Moose. At the 7 week mark, after a QEW wash, you can see CMW is holding up nicely. Still has great beading and decent slickness. Car sits outside during the day and is tunnel washed 2-3 times a month (they are too far for me to regularly wash their cars).

2004 Porsche Carrera. Detailed in early December, and he wants me to detail it monthly. The interior was still excellent but stuff like the pedals, door panels, etc did need attention. Exterior was still in terrific shape (2-3 tunnel washes since I detailed it last) and the original application of Prime and Acrylic Jett was beading like crazy, still looked good and had decent slickness. No reason to polish, so I just applied a couple more layers of AJ. Not a huge difference with the first layer, the month old layer seemed to be holding its look very well. The second layer seemed to add a touch of depth. Probably keep layering it monthly until I need to tear through it for any necessary polishing.

Mid winter detail on my car. Really cold to start December, some ice and they use sand on the bridges, overpasses and intersections for traction. No real rain since then so my car is always dusty within a few days after washing. And of course, when it is dusty, that is when people brush up against it, touch the paint, etc. Nothing real bad but some areas in direct sun were beginning to bother me.

This is after using Menzerna 106FF with a Lake Country Polishing pad, Clearkote's Vanilla Moose with a green lite cut Propel pad, my hybrid Pink Moose with a Lake Country finishing pad only (no wax):

After applying Carnauba Moose with a Meguiars finishing pad-took these at a customer's house, better background than at home! Sorry no sun pics, there was no sun. :(

Based on how my car looked with Werkstatt's Carnauba Jett, CMW is a bit deeper and rich looking but not as 'black'. I think I will maintain the finish for the next few months with layers of CJ and see how it works out. :)

Scott, All look great as usual!

Thanks for the report on the AJ, should have my hands on some AJ/CJ by next w/e.

Are you still applying the AJ/CJ by rubbing it in to each panel till it disappears, then MF?

On our dark red BMW , do you think I should prime then a few coats of AJ followed a few of CJ?

Its been about 8 weeks since it got polished last, so should I still prime it? It's garage kept.

Scottwax,

Don't know how you come up with all those car finish combinations :woohoo: . No matter what you use all the cars are beautiful. Do you think the variable contact pads are for experienced PC users only? I need more pads on the way to debtor's prison.

Thanks in advance,

Gordon

Scottwax, I remember you said something about 106FF causing dusting. How did you overcome this?

All the details are beautiful.

I like the look of the DP sealant. What are your thoughts on it? Thanks for sharing your work wih us, i am impressed as always.

I like that dude's house, garage and landsacping in the shots with your car!

Those LC VC pads are really awesome.

Great work!

The LC pads are fine for any experience level.

mav63-106FF still dusts a bit but I clean the pad out after each use and scuff the pad and pat it every couple of panels. That seems to keep it down a bit.

zippymbr-the DP Sealant seems very much like UPP, in fact, it even smells like the version I had-which, I might add, also has the same 30-45 minute wait before removal requirement. Real easy product to use. Apply a thin layer, wait 30-45 minutes and it wipes off with very little effort. Very slick too.

Spilchy-he has around 40-50 acres with a stocked pond. The house is 11,000 square feet and the garage bays on the main house swallow his F-250. BTW, this is the same house with the awesome garage attached to the guest house.

Oh yeah, as I was leaving last night (didn't finish his vehicles until nearly 7 PM), I saw 4 deer on his property as I was heading down his long drive. :)

great looking details as always. glad to see you got some time to do your own ride :xyxthumbs thanks for the pics we are always looking forward to the outcome of your work. :woot:
