I've tried S100 and Souveran

S100 is a very good high quality easy wax. The high recommendations from guys on this forum made me purchased a jar of Pinnacle Soveran paste from CMA out of Tampa, Florida. After receiving the wax, PC pads, QD I called CMA and spoke with a woman with an attitude. Her son apologized for her behavior, moving on........

I honestly cannot tell any difference between the S100 and Soveran...... only the smell is different. Banana with the Soveran. The S100 appears to have more oils, feels more slippery and the foam pad included is nice. At $70.00 plus shipping for the Soveran and $15.00 at the local Harley shop.... well, it appears the S100 is the better deal.

Responses to my comments above are appreciated.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the Soveran.

Same here. Souveran is an outstanding wax and seems to have a small edge on black (but not an additional $55 worth), but on lighter colors and metallics, I think S100 looks better and you can't beat the price.

I like S100 I Let someone borrow my S100 I will probley just give it to them and get a jar of Pinnicle Souveran or Clearkotes New Carnuba. Is clearkotes stuff a liquid or payste I like paystes alot better for some reason.

Tee new CK wax I think is liquid. I prefer paste over liquid. I love getting "personal" with a finish sometimes. A liquid always ends up on my PC for some reason (applying it.)

On black there is a slight difference between Souveran and P21S/S100. P21S has a slightly glossier appearance and Souveran is slightly deeper. I use them in combination over my sealant (Poorboy's EX). First I apply 1-2 coats of Souveran and follow with P21S. Each coat is applied 24 hrs apart with a QuickShine QD prior. This combination also greatly decreases the dust attracting tendency of Souveran.

Souveran is a little pricey but if you were patient it goes on sale a couple of times a year. As a matter of fact it is on sale now at The Pinnacle Store until the end of July. Terry at CMA will normally match anyone else's sale price. I got mine for $39.95 from CMA :xyxthumbs

From Scott's description the new Clearkote carnauba is a PASTE. :bounce

The differences between P21S and Souveran ARE noticeable. On my silver/metallic gray XJS, it's actually a rather dramatic difference. As others have said, the P21s is brighter and more reflective while the Souveran is deeper. I'm not sure yet, but I THINK I prefer the Souveran look on that particular car, but I can readily imagine others preferring the P21S. Might try oughta try blkZ28Conv's layering of the two and see how that looks. I also want to see if the P21S holds up better to engine heat.

Ray-What color are you using the two on?

I'm using both waxes on a 2001 BLACK Camaro SS, no scratches, paint is perfect. Both waxes look great on this vehicle.

My other is a 2000 BLUE metallic Volvo S80 T6 sedan- I cannot tell a differance on the Volvo.

On the Volvo, I can see the two waxes looking the same. On the black SS, I bet you'd notice a slight difference if you used one wax for a long time and then changed to the other. You know, you get used to how it looks so anything different is more noticeable.

If for some crazy reason wax accumulates along a seam and doesn't get buffed or removed, is one product less noticeable than the other? Or do they both look the same?

Slightly O/T but I notice there are nylon detailing brushes available for getting at the seams and around emblems, do these work well or will an old or new toothbrush do the same?

scooby2 - The Souveran and P21S would be about the same if you missed some while buffing.

None of the detailing brushes currently on the market would be soft enough for me. TOL had some with flagged bristles that WERE soft enough, but those have been out of production for years. I usually pull cotton balls or swabs apart and use a sharpened swab stick (or toothpicK) to work the cotton into hard to get areas. A little QD makes it even easier. Then I buff the area with a plush MF. You MIGHT be OK with a very soft boar's hair brush (or other natural hair, think artist's brushes), especially if you wet it with QD, but be careful.

There's no way I'd touch my paint with a tootbrush, no matter HOW soft/used/etc. it was. I did that back in the 70's, know better now.

Jngrbrdman once tested the dust/dirt repelling ability of each wax and P21S won hands down.

The attached pic of his car was taken after a rain-storm. P21S was applied on he left side and Souveran on the right:
