I've sworn off lake country pads...

That's strange.

I have the LC pads (the concave type - not the flat one).

They are pretty good.

I really abused them. I lend them to colleaques at work (along with the PC) too.

I washed them in my washer with hot water.

I have the LC VC pads in the yellow, white and black. One of my yellow polishing pads doesn't seem to have the hold it once had as it will spin off the backing plate now and then. The one black pad I've used has the velcro backing starting to separate a bit from the foam, I'll reglue it and will look into that SEAL ALL at Walmart. Like the VC but I'm concerned at the issues I've had.

Any other recommendations on pads that can be had around the GTA?

Just a hint guys, I was having the same problems last summer and swore it was the LC pads, even the brand new ones. A guy at Top of the Line sent me a new backing plate and said if it works pay for it, if not send it back. Low and behold it worked, my backing plate had worn out, not the pads. You might want to try a new backing plate before you replace all those pads.....

This thread puzzles me as I have never had any problems from LC pads. In fact I quit using AutoMagic pads since they fail onme all the time. LC has the highest construction quality of any pad I have ever used.

Great idea! I have a spare backing plate, i'll have to try it out next time I break out the PC.

The odd thing for me, and these wolfgang pads, is that I don't have any issues with any other brand of pad, at least with the velcro, just these.

Although I do have issues with the other pads... I've had the velcro seperate on each and every one of my Sonus DAS pads, and have eaten the older LC pads like it was my job.

I'm not sure why I go through em so fast, I don't see myself doing anything differently than anyone else...

Hopefully the backing plate makes a difference...

The 6" backing plate I got from excel detail is terrific. No more pad slip. :)

I've been getting great results from the Meguiars pads (whatever they changed with the velcro a few years ago worked!), Propel and Lake Country VC pads. I can't even remember the last time I lost a pad due to the velcro coming off.

Scott - How would you compare the Meguiar's pads to the Propel pads(P1 or P2)?...quality?...equivalence in cut?
