1. How did you wind up at Autopia?

followed a link on vortex posted up by either Jesstzn or BlackSheepSquadron

2. What do you like most about detailing?

the satisfaction of the end result, it's also relaxing for me

3. What are your favorite products/processes and why?

i love my cyclo

4. What's your dream car and why?

i'd love to have my bug finished - it was my first car 16 or so years ago, and is once again being revived with it's 3rd life

5. What's the best thing you learned on Autopia?

all of the different products and processes that are out there (more than just OTC stuff)

6. What are some of your other hobbies and interests?

VW's, Semi Trucks, and hanging out / playing with my sons (currently 4 & 7)

7. Do you have any pets? If so, types, names, pics.

2 year old yellow lab named Bella

8. Name three secret techniques that you think you should share to fellow Autopians.

a. clay

b. clay

9. Where are you from and where do you live now?

Annville / Grantville, PA - 10 minutes north of Hershey - woo hoo

10. What was you first car and what got you interested in keeping cars perfect?

1974 Super Beetle - i still have it 16 years later. With as much $$ as cars cost these days, you need to take care of them - i like having a clean ride

11. What motivates you to detail?

it actually relaxes me

12. Would you ever pay someone else to detail your car?

i have in the past, but only if it was something i wasn't comfortable tackling, or didnt have the right equipment to take care of the job

13. Does detailing run in the family at all, or are you the only normal one?

just me - although my 4 year old loves to help me. i usually put him on bumper/rocker duty

14. What is your favorite part about detailing?

see number 11

15. If detailing is a hobby for you, would you like to do it full time, or do you feel that it would take the fun out of it?

if i didnt need the paycheck, yes, i would definately do it full time. i am entirely too anal to be able to make much money at it. i've done some doozy of some cars for friends and family, just because they needed done so bad

my current cars

the Bug - in the body shop for a complete color change / rust repair as i type this

1974 Super Beetle - 4"+ wider fenders, will resemble my avatar at one point.

And that's me in a nutshell. I enjoy detailing, but really need a garage to be able to do it year round - not just waiting for nice days to come around. I'm also very active in the local VW Community - i play an active role in the area's largest VW club, and will be running for an officer position in it this spring. I also set up the first VW / Audi Toys for Tots Drive in the Harrisburg area last year. We ended up bringing in several hundred toys - enough to help around 70 children - we had over 75 vws/audis make a 12 or so mile trek down the interstate one sunday morning - nothing like looking in the mirror and seeing 2 miles of vw's cruising behind you
