iso 50/50 on everything?

Actually when doing IPA wipedowns on your paint after each polishing step you should use IPA straight and do at least 3x.

David, while I value your experience, this is posted on XPEL's site: "Swirl or light scratches can be removed by gently wiping undiluted Isopropyl Alcohol onto the material and allowing it to evaporate." I have done this numerous times to mine w/ no ill effects.

Can you further elaborate on those occasions where you've had probs w/ IPA and clear bras?

Hey guys I have a question. I purchased 3 32oz bottles of 70% IPA from my local WalMart.

When you guys say 50/50, does that mean I should pour the IPA into a bottle (half way) and fill up the rest with water?

While 50/50 would mean half and half water, just use the 70% straight for paint cleaning.

Never had any problems on hard trim, on soft rubber it will remove some, as the color on the cloth indicates. But never seen any long term damage if wiped on and off.

Also it is a recommended way of renewing old wiper blades.

I've done several single stage paint & vehicles w/clear bras and typically don't have any problems, but recently on 2 different vehicles, I had straight 92% alcohol "tack up" the surface when I spray misted it on and wiped. Couldn't explain why, so I had to skip it and relied on my post polish wash to prep the surface. I brought this up to a few others I talk to here and they have experienced this as well. I'm certain it was the single stage paint that caused this reaction on one vehicle because the trunk had been repainted with base/clear and it worked fine. The rest was factory single stage and gave me the problem. I've heard that cutting down the IA with water can reduce this, but haven't tried yet.

I have heard 50/50 IPA is fine for occasional cleaning of trim..i wouldnt do it too often though..i always foam some P21S TAW and work it in with a SV brush..always comes out good..it preps for dressing of plastic and rubber seals for Gummi.
