Is this thing on?...

Thanks guys.

I'll be honest - I'm kinda struggling with where to begin. Lots to read. Trying to find some immediate answers with the Search function.

Washing a car can get complicated.

Well, it's just kinda daunting, that's all. That's the problem with the iNets these days - too much information, not enuff time in the day. And "Dave's Detailing" tells me you've been at this on a Pro Level for some time and experience is... everything.

Me, I'm just a bloke who likes cars and in general likes to take care of things. I find said things then take better care of me. The sum of my 'car wash' knowledge is

- Cool paint, in the shade
- Rinse the entire car first, gliding my hand over the paint looking for problem areas
- Start at the top, horizontal surfaces first, best to wash/rinse one at a time
- As the vertical surfaces are washed, keep rinsing the horizontals to avoid water spots
- Dry entire car
- Wash wheels
- Drive it like you stole it

The devil is in the details. Filtered water? Two buckets? With screens in the bottom?? A black light? A FOAM CANON!?!?

And then of course, the STAGGERING array of applicable products. I'm pretty much convinced the confusion is intentional and designed to sell more product.

Two buckets? yep With screens in the bottom?? Grit Gaurd yep A FOAM CANON!?!? up to you.

Add a couple good sponges or wash mitts. One for the top half of the vehicle and one for the bottom half. Maybe even a third for beneath on the rocker panels :D

Wheels first?!?

You, Sir, just tipped over my World.

It depends on how you like to do things, but I agree. The thought is to get all the scrubbing and wheel gunk off first as most of the time as I do wheels i splash and get splatter on the surrounding body panels. This way you rinse off the gunk and then wash the panels making it a "cleaner" wash.
