Is this the right order for polishing?

Getting marring out should start with the least aggressive polish. What about the type of foam pads???



For example using Poorboy SSR 2.5 and 3: (I am talking about both PC and rotary polisher.)



1) PB SSR 2.5 with orange pad (...if it doesn't work then)

2) PB SSR 2.5 with yellow pad (...if it doesn't work then)

3) PB SSR 3 with orange pad ( ....if it doesn't work then)

4) PB SSR 3 with yellow pad.



Is the yellow pad only work well with the most aggressive polish such as Sonux SFX1, PB SSR 3....etc. ?

If you dont know, then put the rotary in your attic, dont pull it out for about 1 year



Seriously, i have removed 97% of the swirls and scratches on my car with DACP and the Orange LC pad.



2.5 is similar in abrasiveness.



Put a pic up of your paint and people can tell you what to use right away, but if it is typical neglected swirled paint, with over 1 year of abuse, then 2.5 with the orange pad.

I'd order them

1. 2.5 w/ Orange pad on PC

2. 2.5 w/ yellow pad on PC

3. 2.5 w/ polishing pad on rotary

4. Stop there, you're car can't be THAT BAD!!!

If step 3 doesn't do it for you then you're either doing something wrong or you should consider practicing on something else first b4 going to a cutting pad or ssr 3 b/c it's not for the weak hearted.



The yellow pad should rarley be used. You can probably get 95% of swirl marks out using the right polish and a polishing pad. I usually only use the yellow pad for spot treatment or on BADLY neglected paint.
