My brother's Truck is setup for Detaling on saturday. This is the Black F150 I posted about yesterday.

Just as a reminder the trucks condition is Rough! Swirls, Maring, Waxed Trim. You name it it has it... I don't think I saw any holograms though...Anyway Heres my plan of attack... Is it overkill?

SSR-2.5 light Cutting pad
SSR-2.5 Polising Pad
SSR-1 Polising Pad
PWC Polising Pad
EX/EX-P Finishing Pad
Nattys By hand

Magic Eraser on all trim followed by PB Trim Restorer.

Interior
6-1 Woolite/Water w/ steelwool
Lexol Conditioner or/Zaino Leather conditioner

Do you guys do anything special for the Steering wheel?
 
That looks like a pretty good plan of attack! You might want to clay bar the truck before you start your polishing routine. I'd also start off using SSR2.5 with a polishing pad first, and move up to a more aggressive pad if needed.

Simple green works well on grimey tires and wheel wells too.

I have used a similar line up myself. I’m curious about following SSR1 with PWC. Have you found this to yield good results in the past. Is there a noticeable difference by adding the PWC.

I plan on doing a black Pathfinder this weekend and if it will make that much of a difference I’ll through in a little PWC.

Does anyone know if there is a problem using PWC under EX-P?

I have only used that combo on my Black mustang. Noticable results. To me yes...

You could probably get away with going directly from 2.5 -Pro Polish or PWC. But being as anal I am the extra step is worth that extra pop. As a result with that attack plan the car ALWAYS looks wet.. Shines I get compliments daily!
 
Since it is a black vehicle, I would skip the PwC and go from SSR1 directly to EX or EX-P (EX-P if it has metallic flake, otherwise regular EX). This will give you a warmer looking gloss which should complement the dark paint. Try two layers of the sealant before topping with Natty's.

Two passes with SSR2.5 may or may not be required. Examine the finish after the first pass. You might find that it will be possible to go to SSR1 without the second SSR2.5 application.
