Is this hazing from 2.5?

I was just using SSR2.5 w/ orange pad.

Are those dots from hazing or rock pitting on my hood?

I apologize for the picture quality.

Looks like rock/sand pits. You have to remember that not only rocks are hitting your car everyday its also sand. The sand flung onto the car is practically sand blasting the front end. Some paints will require a ligther follow up polish with SSR2.5.

It's a 2003 Ford Focus, so, correct about the SS. Why do you ask?

Are you saying that 2.5 on a lighter pad will help remove this?

As the other have said, SSR1....or anything that is less aggressive than SSR2.5. Wow, I would think an 03 in red would have a clear coated finish!

Just another quick question... I'm planning on rinsing after polishing because it's hot here and dusting is inevitable. Should I rinse before or after waxing?

Well if dust is EVERYWHERE, meaning cracks, crevices, vents, windows, etc. tehn you can rinse before the wax. If the dusting isnt so bad then a simple wipedown with a QD will clean the surface then wax.

Hazing is going to be a uniform dullness, not the discrete spots you show. Those don't really look like stone chips to me, they look like some environmental damage (acid rain, bird droppings, tree gunk).
