Is there an interior cockpit dressing that actually *creates* a matte finish?

I swear people are NOT reading what the OP is asking... There is NO product made that will do what he is asking.

So he has a shiny finish he wants to dull down...My guess you would start with a good APC like Optimum to try to strip the residue glossy dressing. I had to do this once.

To me, 1z or Meg's QID is as neutral as you can get.

Hey Deanski, long time man! I still have a place for 1z Cockpit Premium (wife loves it) but Optimum is my new #1. It is the best I've ever seen.

I agree with the recommendations of some kind of cleaner to remove the sheen.

I'd try a mild Woolite solution, as it usually removes the greasy look from interior panels, and restores the bare, factory finish. Using it with a magic eraser as the applicator will further stretch its effectivity.

Maybe not, but, I don't think the OP realizes that the reflectiveness he is currently getting is NOT factory. Believe it or not, when the Prelude was brand new, the sheen on the dash was minimal and quite flat in reflectiveness. I've seen cars that have been slicked up with Armorall their entire life, the dash as shiny as can be. A simple solution of soap and water can remove the greasy, reflective buildup and help bring down the shine to near factory levels.

I agree I had a Prelude and the dash was not shiny new, I made the mistake and used 303 on it and it was shiny like paint afterwards. I would recommend 1z cockpit detailed, it leaves a nice Matt finish.

Yea, it's been a long time...Nice to hear from you as well!!!

Yep, I still use 1Z Cockpit Premium for matte finish look, that's after any previous crap is not on the vinyl or plastic and if so, strip it off.

I've yet to try Optimum line. I'm sure it's quite good. It's just Germa cars need German products sometimes....Hear great things as to Optimum polises as well.

Oh yea, going to get a new Porsche GT3/RS to spec. That's IF I can get an allocation or I'll have to wait for one when they go to 2011 model.
