Is PS21S and S100 the same?

I don't care about durability....the car will never see bad weather again....I want it to look like it was just painted a minute ago.

The reason why I originally posted was that I felt your assessment of the two product's similarities were misleading. They're both very good products, just different ... like our opinions

I agree there is nothing wrong with having a diffrent opinion. I am looking out for other autopians that may read this thread and instantly think that #16 is not as good as ps21s. It just seems to be a constant theme here that a lot of meguairs products are wrongfully disreguarded. the NXT debate is just one of them. I don't make claims without trying the products.

I have to agree with pwr4all3.
P21S wipes on and buffs off without hazing, while #16 is liquified then applied and allowed to haze before buffing. P21S doesnt stain trim while #16 does. P21S is a beauty wax that imparts clarity and surface reflection at the expense of durability due to a beeswax/carnauba combination, while #16 is a heavy carnauba with less shine and provides longer durability at a moderate sacrifice of appearance. P21S is very easy to use and is very consistantly predictable, while #16 can be very difficult to use if allowed to cure slightly, contact trim or applied in sun or high humidity.
I dont want to be accused of disagreement, so you see, they are the same.
NHBFAN, your incessant Meguiars bashing has to stop! Please join us in telling the world the real truth about wax. I recommend you practice 1 hour of Meguiars mantra every evening for one week. Ive never waxed next to Mike like Randy has, but I'll bet its a spiritual moment.

Well it was one of the better moments of my life. Going to Meguiars and being able to test pretty much whatever product I wanted. It was nice to finally put all the "talk" to straight facts. If I just read this board I would have thought Meguiars NXT for instance was a crap product. Using the product first hand gave me an appreciation for how well it works. I like to spend less time debating wax and more time doing actual testing that yields results.

I would like to throw in my 2 cents worth since everybody is out for the jugular tonight................... P21S/S100 which I used for years with #16 is not similar(in my opinion) #16 is harder to work with less of a shine and more durabile. P21S/S100 is that easy on and easy off wet look shine almost like a lesser version of SOUVERN I never seen durability with P21S/S100 more then 5 weeks tops.Leave P21S/S100 on a car for 1 hour and wipe it off with ease leave #16 put on thin for 1 hour and its harder to take off.#16 has durability way more then the other two waxes THIS IS ALL FACT TWO different looks now stick a knife in my back because I am done

Thought I'd throw this in the mix. I emailed P21S about their products and here is the response I received today.
"Dear Mr. Lucas,
The formulations for P21S and S100 are indeed different, though we do not get into formulation details for proprietary reasons. The two waxes can generally be used interchangeably, but if you wish to tell your customers you are using the number one rated paste wax in the USA (see p21s.com for details of the testing), you can only legally support this claim by using the P21S Formula.

detailbarn....................i can only tell you this in 2002 i e mailed P21S and after 20 or so e mails going back and forth they finally admitted to me that P21s and S100 are the same FAST FOWARD 2 years later and now I know they tweeked the P21S so it is different from the S100 by how much I don't know but not enought to warrent $15 smooth ones
