Ive been interested in this stuff for a while now.... but DAMN is it expensive.

Is it really worth $50 for 32oz?

Thanks!

The Blackfire Scratch Resistant Clear Finishing Polish from CMA is supposed to be the same stuff in a smaller bottle--16 oz. for $26.95.

I have been using it for a few years and it has never let me down. expensive, not really if you see how much I use on an suv . it does allow me to one step with a rotary quite well on black  so the time saved using one step and small amount used , achieving the finish I desire is worth it to * me * just my 2 cents.

It makes FPII look like a bargain! haha I just grabbed a 32oz of the FPII and was extremely pleased with it.

I can't see how PO106FF can be that much better to warrant double the price, especially at the hobbyist level.

though the price is significantly higher, its also a specific product made fore a specific application. More R&D went into it, and it is a different formula all together vs. the FPII.

even the balckfire polish - 26$ is pricy for 16 oz.

but man will you be gald you have it come time to detail a new benz . . . because it works . . .

I may just have to get a 16oz of the Blackfire... just for the Benz cars. I detailed a S430 the other day and all I could do was kick myself in the *** for not having any on hand. That paint was a PITA to work on. My #83 and cutting pad worked.. but it took a LONG time to get it right.

Thanks to everyone offering their opinions.

Flatstick.. so when you say using a small amount, does that mean you can spread over a larger area with a "normal" amount of product or do you just use a lot less for the usual 2'x2' - 3'x3'?

Thanks!

Try to get the new Menzerna PO85RD3.02 instead of the Blackfire compound wich is the older formula, PO85RD3.01 bud with added lubricants(don´t see why PO106FF or RD3.01need this?

Myself I use a lot less product then others I have used for an area say 2x2. so in the end I use less to do the whole car or truck than with other polishes I have tried.

Is the finish twice as nice as compared to products costing half as much? No.

It's not twice as good, but it is definitely a step up from other polishes. You need to try it to find if it is worth it to you.

PO106FF is absolutely awesome, it has enough cut to polish out defects on medium/hard paints and finishes extremely well.

I use it to finish on my Audi A4 by rotary and it leaves a hologram free finish for me.

32oz of product will last many cars, you only need a pea sized amount, it really goes along way.

WOW.. a pea size amount? Maybe Ill have to try it out with the 16ozer then.

Thanks guys... Ill add this to my "next order" list. :xyxthumbs

I could not live without 106ff! It even cuts using by hand in those hard to get areas. The gloss is through the roof. I did have a complaint one time, my friend said he could not see the paint color cause the reflection was so clear and bright. It looked like a mirror and he wanted to know where his car went.

Is 106ff worth $50? hell ya!

Next question... thanks for the response, by the way.

Are you guys using 106FF on ALL your detail jobs? Or are you using it when you have a car with the demanding scratch resistant clear coats? Ive notices some people use it on cars that this stuff wasnt designed for.

Thanks!

I use it on all cars. It is a very fine abbrassive that breaks down to an extremely fine almost like clay in seconds. I have been detailing car for over 15 years and I have seen nothing that is so fine in grit and so glossy in the end result. This is where the magic begins. Then your lsp (sealant or wax) protects it!
