Mods - Not sure where to best put this thread....

I've tried various detailers in my area. The ones offering CQF *in which I'm very inclined to use*, the 2 authorized installers in my area, one I would rate a 6/10 and the other a 7.5/8 out of 10.

The latter detailer who I have not used yet, who I am VERY inclined to try/use from a paint polish seal , but he's not CQF authorized nor does he offer it. OCP.

I've had OCP and between the 3, I like the looks of CQF and 22.

So whaddya say AutopiaForum Joes and Pros. Is it the man behind the ~machine~ or would you say 50% of the EXPERIENCE on a professional detail is the LSP used on it.
 
There are some variables that aren't being mentioned. Did you see all 3 products on the same panel after the same prep? Did you see all three products on the same color? Some LSPs will look better on certain colors. The prep work that went into it can make a difference as well.

To answer your question; the prep work will often make a bigger difference than the product will. (I would say 80% prep/20% LSP.) The average person would have a hard time telling the difference between a lot of products unless they saw them side by side in the same light. That said, I find OCP/OC to not give optimum gloss/depth but the benefits of protection and durability are far beyond any other.

Everything he has mentioned is absolutely spot on !

All of us who do this for a living don't have time to speculate because we are busy, and when we are not, we are not inclined to speculate much either...its just too time consuming...

What I can tell you from years of experience with it, is that Optimum Technologies came out with Beta version of Opti-Guard/Coat YEARS ago, and their products are still working ...Some vehicles at the beginning of the beta testing are going on what - 9 years now???

Opti-Guard (the first name of the Pro product) has been on all 3 of my personal vehicles going on 3 years and they all still look better, stay cleaner, outshine any other vehicle around... And no, Im not bragging, and history proves I never have...

Your questions are not going to get nothing but speculation, because none of these newer manufacturers have been around long enough to get any history, know what I mean?

Lets not kid ourselves about the question you asked.... There is nothing that can exceed the Experience of someone who has worked hard for years, and raised the level to the highest the equipment and products can offer, and who is also incredibly motivated, innovative, and really cares about the craft more than the attention, glamour, or how many Facebook "Likes" he gets - ever...

First and foremost, you need to decide whether you value work you can trust or a brand you want more?

When it comes to LSPs, the prep is going to account for 90% or more of the final result. On top of that, Opti-Coat will last forever and offers superior long-term protection.

To me, it's a no brainer.

Also, the person who handles many of the Opti-Coat Pro accounts is a respected detailer with actual hand's on experience in real-world detailing, which makes him very good at selecting detailer's to represent the product.
 
At this point in my life....I prefer to pay a pro to do his thing.....

To clarify on my OP, the Experience on the LSP was more of the *end user* experience post application. How well it stays clean, the look, the slickness (which I generally use reload more often than I should on all my coated cars), etc. I know you can to some degree layer the OC 2 / CQUK. I'm pretty religious on cleaning the cars and the proper wash/dry techniques. Just not into polishing no more.

What area are you in? I could recommend someone if you like!
 
I would quiz them on how anal they are about their process. You can always tell a good Detailer by his process and how OCD they are about their work environment. I see a mess a place... I'm out of there. My area is always near or perfect. Between contamination and working accidents I take no chances, I'm sure all real pros and joes are like this.
