Is it possible to start a mobile car wash and detailing business for 150 dollars?

Optimum No Rinse, Optimum Power Clean, two spray bottles for using ONR for glass cleaning and OPC as a wheel cleaner/degreaser, Armor All, tin of Meguiars #26, Clay Magic kit, microfiber wash pad and about 30-40 MF towels and you'd be good to go for simple wash and wax jobs.

Why not start at the very bottom and just offer washing?

You'd only need a bucket, a lid, some ONR, and some towels.

Would give you a taste of the bigger money in detailing, get you in physical and "business" shape, and you could invest the profits in detailing equipment.

See this guide for starting a mobile car wash.

If you looking for something as your sole income, why not get a job with someone else to learn more, build up skills, and a little more money. There is someone always disposing of perfectly good products so you can get by with others do not want (prior formulations, etc).

I'm with Scott on this one. Start small and offer wash/vacs with a coat of sealant as an up sell. Don't give them away, but charge fairly for your time and make sure it's right. It will keep your overhead down in the beginning and both packages are easily afforded by most people which will allow you to build your business ( AKA cash flow ) a lot faster. Within 3 months of me opening my business, I had to move out of my garage and hire a person as I was doing so many wash and vacs that I couldn't do them all myself. As I got busier, I cold afford more equipment and thus could offer my client base more services. Have them come to you or go to them and use their power/water. When I do mobile work, my clients expect me to use their power/water and are surprised when I show up with a water tank.

I think its good business. But i "ll suggest you, you must choose that business in which you have any experience. This business "ll start with small income and you can generate much revenue.
