Is it OK to use a

They are dangerous, but they work. Just don't use it too close to the car. That is really high pressure and it does have the ability to peel paint off if you let it. I've seen it happen. I've also seen it slice into your fingers and leave scars that last for years. I'm living proof of that. Use it with care and it is an effective time saver.

I'd have to say that the pressure mentioned is probably too high to be used safely, does you unit allow you to adjust pressure? If it does i would knock the pressure down a little.

I busted out a power washer one day and the next thing I knew my car looked like this:

That's a high pressure wash. Persoanlly, I think the risks outweigh the benefits. I'll stick to the hose. Maybe if you can turn down the pressure a little bit it would sound safer.

I have a pressure washer too, but I don't use it to wash my cars. Tried it once (it has an attachment for soap) and it is definitely not worth the hassle of dragging it out and setting it up. Didn't work well at all.

I have a 2400PSI one that I turned down the pressure to about half and used it on this truck after a trip to Montana.

Trying to get the dust out from behind all the molding so it wouldn't bleed out on me everytime it rains.
At work I have seen one literally strip the clearcoat off.

As another said, it generally isn't worth the extra effort.

I use a 1300 psi and have no problem.I stay my distance from the car and it works well if you have dirty wheel wells.just be careful and no i do not use the soap feature
