Is glazing necessary?

As the topic asks, is it necessary (or desired) that I glaze after I polish to rejuvenate the paint's vigor? I've been reading that you can glaze, but don't have to in order to get rid of implanted pollutants that inevitably get embedded into the paint. Can anyone provide some insight?



If I go with glazing, I'll purchase DWG, since I've heard great things about them. My process will go like this:

- Wash/dry

- Optimum Poli-seal

- Wash/dry

- Glaze

- Wash/dry

- Optimum spray wax



Sound good?
 
Poli-Seal is a light polish and give the paint the same deep rich look that a quality glaze will. I don't see any reason to wash after using Poli-Seal, it doesn't dust. No need to wash if you glaze either, all you are doing is making extra work for yourself.

I'm with Scott... that's too much washing... I almost never wash even after some polishes let alone something like Poli-seal...



As for glazes, I use them on many clients' cars that have been poorly detailed in the past and I don't want to take off any more paint, so I will yearly use a very light polish, then glaze to hide any of the lighter swirl marks and defects left over... after glaze and wax 85-90% perfect cars start looking flawless...
