Is four star ultimate sealent good?

I bought it online by mistake - I got it confused with another kind. I don't know if I should return it or use it. It's expensive and I haven't heard anyone talk of the brand, so that makes me a little apprehensive to use it. Is there a better sealant out there, or is it better to just keep it?
 
do you have the reg or the polycharged? Most people really like the look, I haven't had the chance to try it myself.
 
It does say boosted by polycharger.

I'm glad to hear it's ok. I don't know what the hell I was thinking at the time, probably really really tired, but I was buying Ultama's polish, and was going to buy their sealant too, and ended up with this. I just hope they're compatible.
 
4-star is awesome. I just put a coat on my silver Santa Fe and the flake is popping off the paint! :drool:
 
It's what I'm happiest with on the S8, and I'm awfully particular :D



BUT...the slickenss seems to drop off quickly. Dunno if the PolyCharger will help with that or not, but it's easy enough to just redo it.



Also, I find it oddly vulnerable to bug-guts etching, so don't let them dwell on the vehicle for too long or you might have to do some polishing.
 
I love 4 Star sealant! Looks great on light metallics! The Polycharger seems to give it some added durability as well, just an fyi Accumulator.

Ah, good. Though I suspect it'll take many, many years for me to use up what I already have, unless the S8 starts getting more exercise.
 
That's awesome to hear. My car is a mid - to - light colored metallic, metallic champagne, or whatever they call it. And last night I was studying the bottle, and I noticed that the polycharger logo was the same as the one on my Ultima polish. Then, I read the ultra-fine print on the back of the Ultima polish and it said it's produced by Four Star...interesting, I thought. Turns out, Ultima, Sonus, and Four Star are all on the same website (though they have separate ones, too).

The Ultima polish comes in a really small bottle which would be nice as a trial, and they say it lasts forever but per ounce, this one blows it out of the water for value. And since it's from the same company, there shouldn't be any huge difference in quality. The benefit to Utlima's polish, not having to buff, isn't a huge deal to me, and after considering the cost this has been a pretty lucky mistake.
 
First off, UPP is an awesome sealant. Super slick, great look. You didn't waste your money.



Btw, the polycharger must help with durability because the slickness didn't fall off for about 2-3 weeks which was how long I went until I reapplied something else.



2nd, are you talking about ultimas PGP, or paint prep polish? You said no buffing required so I'm assuming your talking about PGP. This stuff is great. Its become my new favorite. This stuff will last a LONG time. You won't use anything near a half an ounce for 1 application. My past three details I've used UPGP on the customers cars and they've been floored. This is all I have been using on my car lately. If you want a wet, glossy, mirror shine, use upgp.



Edit: I believe 4* manufactures the chemicals for sonus and ultima. I believe they also produce some chemicals for wolfgang/pinnacle. I've only used UPP and DGPS on my silver paint and I could NOT tell a difference betweene the two in all aspects. Maybe on black paint I may habe noticed a difference in looks but in terms of slickness, application, and removal, they are the same.
 
I meant Ultima's Paint Guard Plus in reference to what I meant to order when I accidently ended up with the UPP by mistake. I did buy Ultima's polish at the same time, which is why I through that in there.
 
Ok - yesterday I finally used it. I am very surprised with the results; it had a Michael Jackson effect on my paint. I've never seen it this pale before, so I'm not sure if it's normal now, or if it was normal before. In the past, when I used carnuba wax, of course it was darker, but even without any carnuba, it was darker. I'm not sure what I think about it, but it feels as smooth as glass.

I'll upload some pictures when I get around to it. It hasn't been sunny out since I finished on Saturday (took 9 hours), so I don't even know how shiny it will be. The reflections I get are pretty extreme, and I have some pictures I'll post of that later, when I can get some pics in the sun too.

I don't know if the paleness is due to applying too much, but I buffed all of it out. I'm just baffled right now lol.

I bet the "paleness" is from it being more reflective. That's something about it that I like on some paints but not on others. I absolutely *love* it on Audi silver, but it's a very different look compared to how other LSPs look on that paint, and I can see somebody saying "pale".

Its polycharged now and for me is proving atleast as durable as Wolfgang Sealant and Z5 PRO. Im not sure this version, infact any version anymore (that isnt discounted to clear) is avalible in the United Kingdom.

I`ve not got any Polycharger but you know how they say UPGP is P/charger in its purest form, I was thinking of adding some of that instead.

What do you think ?
