Is a rotary necessary after wetsanding?

Im getting ready to paint some of the interior pieces (paint them properly) on my truck and my GF's tahoe. I've been practicing a bit on some scrap plastic laying down base/clear and now wetsanding it. I have found its not half as hard/scary as i thought, and am seriously considering doing some parts of my truck (rockers) and my GF's tahoe. I have a PC and the 1Z line up, but no heavier compounds or a rotary. Is the PC sufficient after wetsanding with 2000 grit, or do i need to go rotary directly after the sanding?

I have never tried using the pc after wetsanding, i am sure that it *could* do it, but it would take alot of time and effort. I typically use a heavy cut compound with the rotary, followed by dacp on the PC, and the results are typically phenominal.
 
Is it possible to use a heavy cut compound like you mentioned using a cutting pad on the PC? I have no doubt it might take longer, but since i just shelled out for the PC i dont really have the $$ at the moment to shell out for a rotary for what would be a minor wetsand.
 
I successfully removed 2000 grit wetsanding marks using Pooboy's SSR2.5 and a LC orange cutting pad after 2 passes. So yes it can be done even by a newbie like me.
 
heh well i just "kind of" finished wetsanding this plastic that i practiced painting on. I say kind of cuz i got antsy and just did most of it but then polished a small portion of it. I did thissuper fast, Im going to go over it ALL again, butusing a terry app pad and 1Z UPP, 1Z PP and 1Z MP i was able to remove the wet sand haze and get down to just standard swirls which would easily come out by PC. This was just PlastiKote black spray paint topped with plastikote clear, but it turned out nice
