Is a 5" backplate ok to use with a 7.5" LC pad?

Just wondering if the Autopia 5" backplate works ok with the LC 7.5" VC pads or should I really look for a 6" backplate?



Looks like the velcro died on my almost new 6" backplate that came with the PC!

Is the pad made for a 5" or a 6" backing plate?

Looks like I found my answer:



from the Top of the Line website:

"These 7.5" Lake Country pads require a 5"-6" velcro back plate for use with the Metabo Rotary Polisher, or the 6" DA back plate for use with the Porter Cable orbital."



Looks like the 5" will not work....
