IS 300 washed with scotchbrite on subdubs 56K, maybe?

Yep, washed with a scotchbrite pad!!!! :nervous2: The owner has never washed it herself so she did not know what the damage was from, I knew as soon as I saw it. The entire car was COVERED in scratches. I had less than ideal working conditions, poor lighting, very cramped area, standing water in the driveway, and it was raining when I started. I worked it out though, sometimes you have to just make it happen.



This was an exterior only.



Before, the whole car was covered in scratches like this.

The process more lengthy that I would have though, but the results were well worth it IMO.

At some point the light blew that was illuminating the front of the car (did I mention less than ideal working conditions?) If you look at the chips in the paint, you can see that it is the same area of paint though.

You'd think common sense would tell people scotchbrite pads are too rough! Even before I was an Autopian I knew better than that. At least I used a dish rag!





Great job! The flake is awesome. BTW where can I get some hyper dressing? How durable is the hyper dressing?

She sounds like the lady whose pink (used to be red) Blazer I did once and brought back to red. I asked her how she was washing it and she said she used Simple Green and she used extra to make sure her truck got clean. :noes:



I am now in the habit of asking people's washing habits when they first call so I have a better idea of what problems I may be up against.

Thanks!! 4 hours, could have been shorter, but she watched and "hung out" during the detail. No interior BTW, that really helped.

ebpcivicsi- You're sure getting your share of messed up vehicles these days! Bet you're getting pretty familiar with that #84 Nice job, per usual. Some of those marks might've given me pause, you must've had to cut pretty deep to get 'em out.

Hehe, I have a vette and a miata coming up that sound much worse than this. :scared:



I may need another gallon of #84 before it is all said and done.



Honestly, after one pass with the #84/cutting pad the scratches were gone. I used the OP just becasue I wanted to get more familiar with it. I could have easily just used #84, SSR1, EX-P and been done with it, but you know how it is when you just can't quit. :grinno:
