Interior Tar Stains

Weight is the enemy.
I was cleaning the CRX interior this morning, and I sprayed some all-purpose on the dust on the floor to dissolve it. I wiped it up, and I smelled it. Smells like... Cigarrettes. I have found the cigarrette smell, but I'm not sure what the best way to remove this stuff is. Any thoughts? By the way, Simple Green sprayed at about 1:4 works well, but I don't want to use it on my dash.

Is the smell in the rug? Cig smoke is hard to get out of a car if there is a lot of it. If its tar stain on the rug then use SG full strenght or a degreaser I think that SG is one. Spray on a rag and rub the area and see how it lifts you are trying to disolve it.

I use SG on the plastics as long as you use the 4.1 ratio and spray in on the rag you are using not onto the surface.

Thankfully (sort of) there is no carpeting in the car due to a weight reduction. I actually took the interior apart over all of today and have been busy soaking all vinyl things in vinyl cleaner, srubbing like mad with an interior brush, and ruining my cheap and old terrycloth towels by wiping the stuff up.
