interior cleaning/protecting

What is some good OTC stuff to use on the plastic, vinyl and such. You know the armor all type stuff. I just tried the turtle wax ice total interior care. It turned my black plastic a whitish color. :wall I was already not sure if I wanted to use turtle wax stuff on my car.



edit: when I say good, I mean the best you can buy at walmart, autozone, etc
 
IMO turtle wax has a bad rap

I have never used the "ice" product you did but

it sounds like user error....did you buff off the excess?, did you clean it first?
 
I seem to have good success with Meguiars Interior Quick Detailer, Mixed 6:1 with Zaino Tire Gloss. I don't know how good it is for the interior but it looks great and holds of for weeks!!!



I see no reason yet to try anything else.

IMO if you have a marine store or RV store and they carry 303, THAT'S the best interior product. I tend to use the Meg's Quik Interior detailer and then follow up with 303. I buff the 303 with a clean towel on smooth plastics and it leaves a good clean OEM look.
 
303 on some cars has too much shine and on others it is barely noticeable.



I keep one bottle full strength, one diluted about 50/50 with water.



If a customer wants low shine this is usually my process. I clean or dust the interior first. Wet a MF and wring out as much as possible. Spray MF with full strength 303 and then maintain it's wetness with the diluted 303.



Use the wet MF with a little tool for cracks and crevices vents etc. and diluted 303 detail brush for other areas. When done quickly go over with a dry MF. I have a few that have no static cling that work well.



Even though 303 costs more than most it does stretch by dilution and it is available for my customers to upkeep their own vehicles.



TOL Best Dressed is even more dilute able.
