Interesting approach a "detailer" was taking

Hah, this all reminds me of the "white van" speaker guys. I get hit up by them almost every time I'm at a home depot. They're like an institution.

I've talked to those clowns a few times. I always offer to let them set their speakers up in my living room so I can compare them to my Cerwin-Vega/Infinity set-up I currently have but they always have an excuse why they can't do that.

Maybe 10 years ago the steak guys came by the house a buddy I were renting and gave us the same $8 steaks for $2 offer and, well, we took him up on it. You know what? Those steaks were pretty darn good!! We bought maybe a dozen of them, various cuts, and threw them on the grille over the course of the next couple weeks. Not once did we regret the decision for a moment.

I'd pass on the speakers though. :LOLOL

I listened to a ten minute sales pitch by one of the "speaker guys" several years back while I was stopping for gas in Las Vegas. Some killer deal on "home theatre speakers." The boxes were about three feet high, and he'd give me a pair for only three hundred bucks cash. I patiently listened to the whole thing, then smiled and leaned up against my MR2 and asked him where I was going to put them...

This is so funny. I've been approached by the steak guy, the speaker guy, and even the art guy. I thought it was just some small time scammers around Philly trying to make a quick buck, I had no idea this was going on all over ther place! :LOLOL

I was approached by the speaker guys twice, the second time I talked them down to $250. Then I made them follow me to this diner by my house and told them I'd be right back with the money...I never went back...lol

I would worry that the steaks were not kept properly frozen. I mean these guys drive around with a freezer in the back of a small pickup.

I've never been approached by the speaker guy. I assume that either the boxes are empty or they are just wood boxes w/o the actual speakers?

We had a couple of "speaker guys" approaching customers in the Home Depot parking lot. The PD responded after a complaint from Home Depot management about solicitation on their property and found that the speakers had been stolen... busted!

:LOLOL wow...that is funny. i had the speaker guys get me years ago in a parking lot too. i think i was somewhere on rte 46 in totowa. they gave me the whole speech about extra speakers and having to get rid of them too. had to just laugh and walk away.
