Insulator wax durability

A question for those of you who have used Megs #16 and Collinite's 845 and 476. Did you notice much differance in durability, and if so, how much, weeks months? I have been thinking about trying some Collinite, but wondering if it lasts much longer than Megs #16.

I've used 845 and get 3months beading in the summer and 5 months beading in the winter on a vehicle outside 24/7 in western PA. I'd say its fairly durable. :xyxthumbs
 
They are all very durable.



I had tried #16 through an entire winter and it still holds up afterward, still beads in the spring.



As for 845IW and 476 I'am trying them this summer, but all in all I think #16 and 845IW is the perfect summer wax because it gives a wet and glossy look and 476S is great for winter for its extreme durability.
 
I have used 845 on my 93Galant which is outside 24/7; I iniitialy put it on in November, we're dealing with Midwest winters here, and it was still relatively effective the following April. It does seem as if the usual salt spray and other winter stuff washes off easier. It's great stuff; haven't tried the 476 but plan to...



The debate has always been that other premium products excell in shine or depth. Products that have to be renewed every 3 -4 weeks. I think much of that is real hair-splitting. I have P21 on my Miata now and the only reason it has lasted is that it's a garage queen. I do think the Collinite products are that holiest of Grails that everyone says they want but no one wants to beleive they can really exist---can't possibly be a substitute for their 87 coats of Zaino, NXT every month, or (can't say it with a straight face) Zymol.
 
I don't mean to hijack this thread, but what did everyone think of how much depth the insulator wax gave? My local advance auto starting carrying Collinite Insulator Wax in the "boat" section, just wondering if it was worth the money.
 
845 is a very good performer but if you want mirror sharp reflections a synthetic is a better choice. IMO NXT, #26 and Reflections all have slightly sharper optics and more depth but 845 has a unique glow on dark colors.
 
I won't put a "number of months" figure on this as there are just *so* many variables, but I've been switching back and forth between #16 and 476S on my wife's car (year round ~daily driver) and before that I switched between them on the Volvo (outside 24/7/52). No question about it, the 476S lasts noticeably longer than the #16. Enough so that I switch to the 476S for the winter. #16 looks better though, at least to me.
 
Thanks for the replies. My reason for asking was, last winter I had #16 last 10 weeks, which is good for a wax. I was hoping to find a wax that could go longer, and the only one that seems to be able to do that is Collinites waxes. I was trying to determine whether it is worth ordering some in or not. If people are only getting a couple of weeks longer life, than I wasn't going to order any. But so far it seems like people are getting more than just a couple of weeks longer life. Definately going to have to give 476 some serious thought.
