Initial Impressions: Gtechniq C1.5 Silo Seal

It really looks great. Can you tell if the Gtechnig is making the car easier to clean as aposed to just the Opti Coat alone? I know that Opti Coat is not Super Slick so peole top it but all that I have read indicates that OC is very easy to clean and almost self cleaning if you hit it with a pressure washer. Not to mention more resistant to minor wash marring that other LSP's.

I am not very up to speed with Gtech at this point but it is a very interesting line to me. I had been following them before Autopia CC started carryig the line. I have a sample of the T1 Tire and Trim I won here (thanks Todd)on the way to me and I had ordered some other GTechnig items. I cannot wait to try them out when they arrive----if it ever stops raining here!

Thanks for the review.

Here in the greater Austin area, we have 2 basic kinds of dirt: light dust (tons of it) and, on the rare times it rains, grime that sticks to anything and requires a jackhammer to remove. For the former, it may help a little. Haven't found anything that really helps on that latter.

Are you using a pressure washer to rinse the vehicle with Opti Coat? I was told, and I have not washed mine since the Opti Coat application that a pressure washing with remove a majority of the dirt.

Good Luck and enjoy the dry weather, we have had rain and T storms almost every day for the past week! Wish we could average out with you!

WOW, hopefully I can apply C1.5 to my wife's car this weekend. I am going to strip the car of that last LSP and see how long the c1.5 last.

You will love it. I highly suggest putting a coat of C1+ on before for years of protection.

Also, C1.5 is fantastic in layers, but no greater then 4-5 as it does not benefit from any more. (Its tempting due to how easy it is to apply) The great thing is, it just makes the paint look more and more glossy from coats 1-3 in my experience.

Yes, I use a pressure washer and, even after a good snow foaming and rinse, TX road grime is largely unaffected. Same is true with Cquartz/Reload and every other LSP I have tried.

Yet another outstanding review Mike!

I too sometimes wonder how well these top shelf sealants stack up against one another. I have quite a collection of paint sealants, some spray, some creams, and 1 is applied with a wet microfiber cloth with an additional spray or two of water.

The bottom line is they all worked great!! :bigups
