Infiniti Malbec Black....what to use?

Any suggestions on preffered products for Malbec Black? Its a different beast....not pure black (but it looks it at night), with some maroon/dark purple metal flake. The goal is to make the flake pop, regardless of what color it is....fromt certain angles it looks maroon, certain angles it looks dark purple and certain angles it looks black.



I havent seen any details of Malbec Black listed here (surprising to me, actually) but I figured Id ask anyway. Also note I believe this is Infinitis "scratch shield" self-healing clearcoat, if that changes the suggested products/procedures.

I have the same concern about making the flake pop. I have tried a lot of combo's here is what I found.



Prima Amigo/banana gloss and or Hydro

CK RMG/CMW

Prima Amigo / CG Wet mirror finish or new blacklight

Zaino AIO/ Z5/Z8

OPS/OS/OCW

all will have the flake poppin



Some sealants will mute the flake, for me its was DG AW and JW stuff

Anyway....the paint is not swirled, the car is brand new and the dealer did a decent job at not throwing in free swirls. Right now the car is a mess (what a winter up here in CT), but I wanted to get a head start on finding products for it.



I assume I will start from scratch....at least a light polish followed by some last step products.



Reading Dogmas post, the CG Black Light stuff has me intrigued. My only question is what to use for a polish though. The list Dogma provided is great but it seemed to be more of a "clean and then wax", but again Im assuming Ill need to do at least a light polish first. While Im at it, Ill take recommendations on some new buffer pads. My old ones can be relegated to truck and wifes car.



Also, any suggestions on good leather care products would be appreciated. Infiniti leather isnt know for its durability, so I wanted to take as good care of it as I could, while not using overly harsh products that will make it last even less. Keep in mind my car has Monaco Red leather seats, like those found in the 2010 Anniversary edition coupe.

Check out Acrylic-Werks. It's an acrylic polish. Check out videos on YouTube (search: acrylic werks) and there are some cool photos on Facebook (search: acrylic werks). There are more photos on Photo Bucket as well. Worked really well on my black, 96 Impala SS. Also kept all my black trim brand new.

The new Chemical Guys Black Light is a PITA to apply by hand...it simply does not want to go on evenly or thinly. Removal is OK and it would probably apply OK by machine, but not by hand. They have a new spray sealant called Hybrid V7 that is great from what I have read on the Detailing World forum. I still think Duragloss 111 is hard to beat for looks, ease of use, availability, and cost as it takes such a small amount to do a whole car.

Im down in Milford. I dont mind driving, but I figure Ill just order some polish from wherever I order a new LSP from. I actually have plenty of Poorboys SSR stuff left, but its my new car so I figured Id take the chance to try out some new products. Still not sure what polish to use, Megs 205 has been suggested. I suppose the exact polish I use probably doesnt mean anything to the end product (provided I use it correctly and dont leave any holograms, etc)

I read thru a couple threads on there about Black Light and it seemed to only be trouble to apply when cold, or at least thats how I read it. Ill be using machine so its not a big deal, but "for best results" CG recommends a second application by hand only. Will have to check that out to see if its going to be a huge issue. I saw Hybrid V7 too, in fact CG now has a bundle of Hybrid V7 and Black Light (and a few extras thrown in). I was considering that, but still had a question if something needs to be applied *before* Black Light. One of the threads on Detailing World talks about using Jet Seal first so I might give that a shot.
 
Any thoughts on GTechniq C2 or Opti Seal? Id love to go with something thats really durable....my paint is in excellent shape already (the car has basically just been sitting since day 1), so it shouldnt be hard to get it just about perfect before applying something that will last.



Ive seen after pics of each product, and they all look nice, but I was just wondering if there is something that can look just a little better regardless of durability (like Hybrid V7, Black Light, etc). But the durability factor is still huge for me, there is never enough time to detail your car the way you want to!
