In search of the ultimate sealant for Yellow

yakky,

Thanks for the sealant info.

I has used Z2/Z5 on my Solar Yellow SRT-4 and while it shined beautifully it lacked depth.

But, it was a lighter shade of Yellow and I did not top it with a wax so I am not comparing apples-to-apples.

The one plus here is that both my Brother as well as my good friend have all the Zaino free for my use so that might play into my decision.

Regarding your comment on DG105-

I have read many a great reviews on it and almost purchased it when I was on the Duragloss site. I use DG901/902 car wash soap and, as mentioned, Aquawax but have also read some posts about it being rather sterile looking. Others have stated DG111 might be a better choice for lighter colors as it has more of the older Zaino look to it before the Pro line came into play.

PS: How's that "underdog" Nufinish holding out in your test?

I guess everyone sees things differently, but I think that AW is really close to the new Z2. IMO DG111 is very close to the old Z2 and that plasticy look is only good on white and silver, not yellow. But like you said, you have free access to Zaino, so give that a shot, if nothing else, it will be one more experience under the belt. BFWD does darken and no one has called it sterile. Plus its slicker than pigsnot.

The underdog is holding up well! I have an all sealant test planned with an even bigger underdog.

I've got an old tin of Raindance paste wax that is just dying for some competition! :getdown

Yikes, though what I have was popular in that era, and its still around, but it makes some pretty bold claims... stay tuned.

Yeah, isn't Powerlock supposed to be super close? I will say its very different than most sealants.

I am still of the opinion that Blackfire Wet Diamond is basically the same thing as 4 Star's Ultimate Paint Protection

I hear Wolfgang is a very good sealant. I've never used it, but I think anyone that has used BFWD can attest to how idiot simple it is to apply and take off. Is it worthy of the "Bubba Proof" rating?? You be the judge.

The judge is still out for durability though. If it lasts as long as Megs #21 did or longer then it will be my go to sealant from now on. When you come across something that works this good, is there really any reason to spend more money looking for something that may or may not be any better?
