Impressed by ZPC, not a big fan of CCS pads

Today was my first chance to try out my new CCS pads and my ZPC. The ZPC did a nice job of getting rid of some surface swirls (black FX45). I was actually suprised with the amount that it took out and best of all wiped right off. I did get a small amount of dusting im sure from using too much product.

I was using a PC with the CCS pads and for some reason not having the full contact didnt due it for me, at least with a PC maybe with the rotary it would be better. It was almost like skipping spots when it was polising kind of hard to explain, had to be there. Needless to say im keeping my ZPC but probably gonna try and get some regular LC pads.

Anyone looking for 7.5" white and green CCS pad used on 1 panel each?

I have the CCS pads and I use them for my PC and Rotary, I don't prefer them on my PC like you said. I understand what you are saying about skipping around and not working the same as flat ones.

I also use ZPC and it is a great product for paint and chrome!

If I used the larger pads for my rotary I would def. take them off your hands but I use the 5.25" ones...I'm sure you'll have no problem getting rid of them, I would suggest putting them in the Trading Post.

Part of the problem may have been the size of your pads. 7.5" pads are pretty large for a PC regardless of the pad design. You might have better luck with the 5.25" CCS pads that Danase sells.

I use the 7.5 LC older version pads that are on closeout now and I have amazing results with these pads using zpc as a finish polish or for removing mild swirls.

I've been using Z-PC via Cyclo using Edge green (polishing) and orange (cutting) pads. You do get some very light dusting even when using a small amount but as windy as this spring has been, it isn't an issue for me.

definatly agree with you guys....i think im gonna pick up some 6" edges 2k pad since i have that setup for my rotary so i can flop the pads back and forth.

I remember reading somewhere that edge will also be coming out with a velcro backing plate that hooks to the 2k system...that would be nice

You guys think menzerna 106FF has more bite than ZPC...ive seen numerous posts but never a clear answer

Thanks again for your input....and joshua i will be throwing these up in the trading post along with some other pads and backing plates!!

ive looked on a couple sites anyone know where i cans till pick up some LC pads (white) ive seen alot of yellow and blacks left but the polishing pad looks liek there gone

The 7.5 inch pads to me are just to big for a PC...I used the CCS pads from Danase yesterday to polish my truck with Menzerna and the pads worked great...I have the 5 inch pads with a 4.75 plate on a rotary and boy did they work nice.... I even swithed over to the PC with them to get in place the rotary could not and they worked great on the PC also...

I found that the LC pads worked a little better than the Edge pads....I used a green edge pad on a area and really had to work the area and the pad seemed like it was absorbing the product..I used a LC green pad and results came faster and product was not absorbed as much..I was just using dots of polish not lines of it...

Al, right now I am using the 5 inch pads on a 3.5" backing plate, I should be getting a 5" backing plate today so maybe I will have better luck like you have had.

elite: I have 106ff and I don't think it has more bite, but it finishes down sooo nice, it is definitely a quality product. Here is a link to some white LC pads Porter cable 7424 6.5 inch polishing buffing pads

ZPC is a great polish. I used it yesterday by hand to remove several years old red spray can overspray from a white fire ext. cabinet. It removed most of it and then I simply wiped the area down with some WD40. ZPC is very versatile. FP2 is also a great finishing polish for dark colors.

The 5" CCS pads sold at Danase.com work well for me on the PC. The pads are a thinner, and for some reason they are easier to work with:nixweiss

I don't care for the larger CCS pads on the PC either, but they work (and feel) awesome on the rotary.

My thoughts exactly in respect to the rotary. I'm going to pick up the 5" CCS pads pretty soon just for tight areas with the rotary and PC work. Much less vibration with the smaller pads.

agree with the other posters on this subject. i recently bought 2 orange and green 7.5 ccs pads from cma and experience the same problems. probably gonna go with the 5.5 or the 6.5 pads for my pc. what a waste of money.
