Imperative To Remove Old Wax Prior to New LSP?

is it necessary to remove old wax when washing before applying new lsp. I am not using a clay bar/polish, but do want to rewax my car...ive used GC 3 weeks ago, and plan on doing the same today?...is this okay?



Also.can someone explain why it is "stupid" to layer cleaner waxes?...

Cleaner wax have cleaning capabilities which clean/remove the old layer that was put on before it.
