Immediate pad cleaning

Its funny you mentioned that DP product, William. I actually have some of that too and I completely forgot about it until you brought it up. I'm going to have to give it a try during my next detail and see how it works.

Yeah so far I like it. It is not something that I would use every detail and Im sure that what DP pays for it is just dirt cheap but nothing else yet has worked so good on really neglected pads.

I normally just use my power washer and spray the pads off after detailing. If I dont do that I just leave them in a bucket with some Charlies APC and throw them in the washing machine. I guess I kind of look at the DP stuff like a spa treatment for the pads. Not something you would do all the time but a few times a year its nice!

XMT pad cleaner is AWSOME.

I used to use dawn. I just let the pads soak in dawn and water and then messaged them out with my fingers then rinsed thoroughly. I got the XMT cleaner with my edge 2000 kit and tried it and man is it worlds better than my old method.

Sweet! I've got some of that on the way with my edge pad kit. Do you spray it on and let it sit? Or do you spray it on and then soak the whole pad in water/dawn afterwards?

Even though some day you dont need the special more expensive stuff I just got some of the DP pad rejuv and it sure helped clean up some pads that had been sitting since winter that were quite dirty. It also helped soften and clean up some pads that had gotten really hard. IMO its worth the $15 so I dont have to replace 10 pads at an average of $12 each.

I saw that stuff on Autogeek. One thing I liked about it was that you could reuse the liquid a few times before you had to mix up a new batch. I might look into that as well.

Sounds like a nice product William, I might have to "spa treat" my pads some time soon. ;)

I just spray it on, let it soak 10 minutes, then rinse it out.

Yeah XMT pad cleaner is great. I soak the pad under warm water, spritz a little XMT on the surface, work it in with my fingers, and then rinse and wring. It cuts down on total pad cleaning time AND the bottle will last you a while.
