I'm thinking, sealants might finally be right for me

#21 is MUCH easier to use than MPPP. It wipes on fast, wipes off fast, spreads like nothing else I've ever seen

timmah, I've used the Collinites and they aren't for me. I got different results than you did, I'm sorry to say. I didn't care for the look.

Even the insulator wax (845)!?

I love how the 845 looks.

It is amazing. Gone the carnuaba route for over 30 years. Now I love the new generation of sealants (Z2-PRO) that gives me that same deep, wet and gloss appearance that I ever received with carnuaba. I go back every so often to refresh myself what carnuaba looks like and I see no differences except in clarity of reflection (muted) and the need to QD everyday to rejuveniated the oils for that just waxed look. I also go by my buddy's paint shop to refresh my idea of what fresh paint should look like. I am anal that way. :o

Personally, I believe with meticulous prep that any LSP, be it a sealant, a synthetic wax or a carnuaba blend (no such thing as a pure carnuaba) can have the outstanding qualities of appearance we all love.

There will aways be small differences that pleases each individual's desires but these are very small.

No one has ever asked me "What sealant do you use?".

I hope I'm not getting old and decrepit, but I've converted to sealants in the past year(BLACKFIRE, and I'm about to try Zaino w/ZFX) from P21S. I guess I'm looking for more durability with my white WRX than when I had my black pearl Prelude. Maybe I'll switch back with my next car(won't be white), but there's a good chance I'll stick with a sealant and top it with P21s :)

Z28,

Good point on clarity. The difference in clarity between certain synthetics like Zaino and your more hazy carnaubas is striking. On a black car especially, it can be very noticeable.

Ideally what I want my car to look like, is how it is when water is sheeting off of the surface. Wet, clear, and reflective. Therefore, I like products that provide very sharp looks.

The main reason for my switch away from carnauba was durability. It has to last at least a month in hot weather. If it lasts many months, then that's wonderful.
