Well I've decided to take the 540i this weekend, I have all the ducks in a row so its a done deal


I took these shot yesterday at the car lot....these guys work with only imports and are very, very to anal particular about the cars they take in.

This one is from the original owner has all service records, only 85K and is in pristine condition.

I really don't think you can go wrong with one as long as it has been maintained.

My neighbor picked up a loaded (auto) 540 earlier this year.

My boss is trading in his 350Z next month, and picking up one too.

I hate you all! (LOL).
 
Congrads on the new ride! I'm sure you will have it cleaned up to your standards in no time. Can't wait to see some more pics.
 
Congrats are in order. As has already been said will look forward to pictures after you have had time to get it up to your standards.

Have never sat in the seat of a 540i. Only an M3. Was fun to ride in but rather small. Is this roomier?
 
What an awesome car. Even though designs have changed over the years, older model BMW's tend to still look good, even when surrounded by a flock of banglized, futuristic shaped bmws.

Good choice.

That 5 series model along with the previous 7 series (before the 745li) are some of my favorites.
 
Thanks all its gong to be nice back in the saddle again....The car seems like the paint is in great shape and the inside is real clean...of course I'll find something to clean and condition.....Mainly I'm going to wash clay and protect the paint

Steve I sold the Jeep some time back for the Murano...this is a better road car for me I am starting to travel a bit more and want something that is more road comfy

Your thinking Nattys, not a fan of Zaino...however the cars on this guys show room they are all kept indoors are really clean and detailed before going to the show room

Take good care of the leather. We have a 99 740il and IMO I don't think the quality is as good as the older E34 5s and E32 7s. Have owned both of those as well.

You may already know that the upper and lower control arms wear out in about 50-70k miles in all of the 5/7s from 89 up to 01.
 
OK got the car yesterday and its clean but not by my standards so this weekend its clay, SSR1 and Nattys...inside its clean but I can see not portected so that's going to get an overhaul as well....motor is OK for winter

Sorry about the pic I will be taking some good ones this weekend after the cleaning weather permitting
