I'm probably insane even trying to clean this interior

How's about going through the drive through car wash with the windows down first. It'll be an easy presoak to soften up the top crust of crud. :lol

What a mess! I cant believe anyone in their right mind would put a child in that car. Kinda curious what you'll find in there.

I bet the guys at the repair shop were cheering after you said $250. They probably all took a look and then told the boss NO..

I think you should take this very seriously when you work on it. Put on some thick leather work gloves and a long sleeve shirt tucked into them. Treat this situation like a bee keeper when handling bees. Cover all the skin you can. Be very careful with all the crevasses and in-between the seat cushions. And under the passenger seat there should be a storage compartment that could have something in it, or under it. I’ve been stuck before and trust me, you don’t want to spend the next couple months going to get tested for everything you could possibly be infected with. It sucks.

I don’t think you will find any needles just because I don’t see any in the pictures. Most of the time junkies have paraphernalia all over the car in plain view. But I can be wrong. I know I was before.

And I agree with power washing everything. Its really the only way to go. After you think you’re done, go over it all with OxiClean. It’s the only time I use that stuff but it seems to give me good result.

Good luck and stay safe.

I don't understand why they didn't throw everything out of the car before calling you, there might even be some drugs hidden in there.

I've done some really nasty interiors more quickly than you'd think.

Probably going to use Optimum Power Clean at full strength. I also have a LGCM just sitting around that I rarely use. The seats will need to be extracted for sure.

Outside will just be wash and Meguiars D151-the outside is in excellent shape actually. It is even pretty clean.

I have done some as bad or worse too. Sometime after you get all the trash out ,they're really not as bad as they look! Agreed

I agree thats way too cheap. On a positive note no matter what you do, that car will look 100 times better. Be sure and check out that VHS tape I saw on the seat.

That's Just wrong...

I think I'd take $18 out of that $250, go to a car wash and have them do the interior first. That or start with this --> Crazy Lady Washes Inside Her Car Video

It reminds me of those homes you see with trash all over them and 200 cats living inside. Did you get a chance to see what the house looks like?

good luck - can't wait to see the end result.

Hope you are current on your Hepatitis and Tetanus vaccines.

Seriously, shouldn't bee too bad once you get the trash out - it will just take time. Be careful about sticking your hand anywhere without looking thoroughly first...the possibility of needles would concern me.

no kidding about the being extra careful to be safe. Might want to think about latex gloves and a hazmat suit of some kind and definitely wear a respirator. You don't need to ingest som T.B. or similar bad stuff. And sure watch for needles.

I kinda agree that the easiest might be to just pull it all out, carpet and all and pressure wash it.

I am sure the cops already went through the car since it was impounded after a drug sting. The current owner is the bank who the junkies got the loan to buy the car through. Definitely wearing some thick gloves to empty it out and rubber gloves when I clean it.

The shop is aware that the price is a starting price and if I have to take apart the interior it could go up substantially. They also know that if after working a section, that if there isn't a big improvement, I can make a decision to not finish the car.

Make sure you wear nice thick gloves and a face mask for this one. No sense in taking any risk of getting stuck, or of breathing in whatever you kick up once you start vacuuming that thing.

That is a mess for sure. I would charge $500 minimum with no guarantees of the outcome or $750 to replace the entire carpet and just clean the seats and the rest of the interior and be done with it.

Good luck with this job Scott and stay safe! Your starting price is definitely cheap and we all know you're worth more than that, hehe.

I'd definitely take out the seats, spray them down, agitate, pressure wash, then extract them. Even then it might take a few passes!

I am sure you will make a big improvement, like always. There is so much trash in there that it might even have helped protect the interior. And If the police already went thru it but didn't throw out the trash(which seems weird IMHO), I think it might be pretty safe to work on, like no needles, but better safe than sorry ofcourse.

That pretty nasty Scott !!!

Look forward to the after pics. Do you use a vapor steamer? I have one now and its works pretty quick qnd effective for breaking up soil and coffee/soda stains.

Oh my god!

Impossible ...

I know, i'm new to this site ... but honestly, i can't stop one second and think that someone can have his interior in a bad shape like this, seriously ...

Sometimes i have Plastic bag from grocery, and i feel bad inside ...
