Thats what I was thinking...mine likes to pull up a chair and watch...

Well, mine has just started to watch at least. But most of the times she will just tell me that her minivan "is dirty"

Regarding the whole dawn story, I am not even sure it strips the wax. I applied both Turtle wax platinum ultra gloss and Nufinish to the kitchen stainless steel twin-sink (one product per individual sink to compare them) The sink didn't repel anyw water at all before the products aplication. It beaded like crazy in both after the treatment. Obviously, you will be exposing the products to not only dish soap, but also to hot water. The first week has passed and both products are still OK. I didn't expect the TWPUG to give a fight to NuFinsih here, but it is still in good shape. In fact, yesterday I washed some pots with very hot water and concentrated the dishwashing soap. After the session, both products are still there reminding that beading has not gone.

If collinite is really that much tougher, a pre-wax cleaner seems like a very viable option.

PD. Did I even mention that I am reaaaally skeptical of the use of dish soap for the car to strip wax and leave a clean surface?

ID be upset too, but its not the end of the world. I can think of many things my wife could do (and does) that make me that mad. ALthough I usually do the husband thing and bite my lip.

I also did the Collinite test on my porcelain kitchen sink. I AIO'ed and then a thin coat of 476 a week ago. I have been cleaning the sink with straight Dawn and a sponge (I used to use BKF, but I figured it would for sure remove the 476). Between the hot water, residues, grease and detergeant it still beads. Sure its only a week, but that much harsher than your cars finish see's.

Well, I can tell you that I can't get 476S out of any applicator I use to put it on with. I'm with the others, I don't think Dawn hurt it any.
