I'm Back!

Hey guys......

Thanks for the warm welcome back:D

Turns out I have a raging case of carpal tunnel....worked its way up to my shoulder and my knee injury was my own dumb fault as I slipped going over a concrete divider at a hospital where I was detailing a car. :nono

It is raining here right now so my day is kinda in the dumps but tomorrow looks good as does Friday. I have a Ferrari detail coming up on a classic 512 BBi that I am really looking forward to:bounce I'll be sure to post up lots of pics.

The new QD I am trying out was sent to me from Irene and it, at least for me, has replaced my usual Clear Pearl.

The Optimum QD is said to be a stand alone product, meaning that it can be your final topper if so desired. I have yet to test this claim out but it does a great job with all carnauba based toppers PLUS works fantastic with Menzerna's FMJ, my fav polymer.

The Optimum is the only QD I know of that contains both UVA and UVB protection so that is an added plus.

The maker claims it is a carnauba/polymer QD

It adds great gloss and a nice slick feeling although I don't find a great advantage in these two areas over other quality QD's. I am not sure of the price yet but Irene told me it will be less than the Clear Pearl, so I hope she is right.

Take care,

Anthony

Great work per usual Anthony. Sorry to hear about the injury, glad to hear you're on the mend.

More and more people are getting Cyclos, and additional pad options seem to be in the making.

:xyxthumbs glad to see your back and that the injuries are healing.I miss seeing your detailing pics.

Did you move from TX?

Ah ha! So this Optimum QD is Irene's latest creation yet to be released to the public. From that description it sorta sounds like it's in "the same family" as Auto Magic's Hydro Shine :nixweiss

Hello:xyxthumbs

I am still here in Texas. I actually moved just down the street from our old house but moving still sucks.......no matter if its across the state or down the street:eek:

Actually the Optimum is from a chemist that has, as I understand it, formulated this product himself.

Irene sent it to me to try out to see if it was worth placing in her line up of products to offer detailers.

I called her back and let her know how I liked it and I am hoping to get a call from the chemist himself to talk to him a bit more on his QD and to see if he has anything else to offer.

The Optimum claims you can use it instead of a paste or creme wax. Just clay and clean the surface and then wipe it down with the Optimum. Claims ot provide a couple of months protection.

As far as the Hydro Shine, well the HS is a wipe of, haze up, wipe off product while the Optimum is a true QD.

I'll pass on more info as I get it.

Not raining here but my day ended up being kind of busted. My morning customers where having some documents shredded (old stuff already audited) and the truck was blocking where I wash their cars. I went ahead and took care of my afternoon customers, grabbed a quick lunch and headed back. I no sooner had vacuumed both vehicles when one had an emergency at home and the other had to go to school and pick up her daughter because she was throwing up. :(

Oh well, stuff like that happens occasionally. :nixweiss

Please keep us posted on the new products you are trying, seems you get to mess with a lot of upcoming products before the rest of us. :xyxthumbs

Anthony,

Glad to see you're back! I wondered what happened to ya.

The 7 and SL are glowing, but my hats off to ya with the 5-series. It's not everyday you see reflections off of paint that extremely supercede ones off of glass. Excellent work!

Wow Anthony! In addition to being a quick and easy LSP, this Optimum sounds like it could be "the optimum answer" to sealing hard to seal areas ( door jambs, undercarriages :o)

I'm anxiously waiting more info :D :xyxthumbs
