Im back, just spent 42 days in the hospital!

I hope you have a speedy recovery. I can only sympathize with your pain and ordeal. Please keep us apprised. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

All med school students learn 5 rules to guide them through their medical practice:

1. Eat when you can
2. Sleep when you can
3. Don't stand when you can sit
4. Don't sit when you can lay down
& 5. Don't ever, ever f___ with the pancreas.

I've been working in an ICU for several years and I can only say I know how serious pancreatitis can be. Very dangerous and quite amazing how well your recovery seems to be progressing. And yes, it's been described by many as the worst pain anyone could ever imagine. Quite an ordeal to go through. My best wishes in your recovery!

Thanks everyone for all the kind words. Im getting lots of support from a ton of different forums. These pictures are from my first two weeks in the icu I posted these on another forum as well. A doctor that is on that site made this comment after i posted them:

MikeyG you were legitimately SICK! CVVHD, incubated, subclavian central line with drips, restraints, sedated, feeding tube, real deal ICU patient. You are lucky to be alive! You had multi-organ failure man, and I will tell you now, there are few people walking around who can say they had that and lived to tell about it. Mortality is big, morbidity is high. Figure out what the hell caused the "blue screen" catastrophe for your body and avoid that path at all costs man!

Good grief...:-B

I'm so glad to hear you are making a recovery. If something like this can happen to a young man like yourself, everyone should really considered themselves blessed...these pictures define "Having a Bad Day"

Please keep us posted as to how your progress is going and if they ever figure out what caused this :-B
