Do you have any? SO many funny stories out there.

If you know one, even if you heard it, read it, or said it....lets hear it!

Here's mine:

I was out jeep trecking with my friend in his CJ7. Well, needless to say he got us stuck in a wash. SOmeone drove by the wash on the levee and said, "Are you stuck...Jeeps can't get stuck!" .....??? Well, I guess we proved him wrong!

I drive a Buick Grand National occasionally and it's well, pretty fast, and those who don't know what it is have no idea what they are getting into (it's just a Buick right??). Anyways I don't condone street racing in anyway but some punk in a Rustang really irk'd me one day and caught me at a bad time so I told him my 6cyl will blow the doors off his stang's big bad 5.0. As soon as the light popped I gave him a nice earful of whistle and was still pulling when I was about 3 bus lengths ahead and finally let off. He finally catches up to me at the next light and says something along the lines of, "You liar you said that was a V6, there's no way I can lose to a V6, look at the size of that car, I bet you got a big block in there, NOS too. I don't feel so bad losing to that, my mustang didn't get beat by no 6 cylinder"

I laughed and actually wasn't in such a bad mood anymore, if he only knew...lol
 
Buick T-Type with turbo....?? I'll say its fast. If my memory serves me right, it does a 13.8 sec 1/4 mile from the factory...am I right?
 
well i was going to purchase a used ford 350 here in texas a few years back.. had been working with the dealership on and off for about two weeks. we had telephone conversations, email responses, and also face to face negotiations. we finally got done to the brass tacks and settled on a price. shook hands and went to his desk where the salesman was going to write a proposal that his general manager needed to approve. the salesmen was quite adroit at typing . it only took a few minutes. he punched a button on his computer, then stated, "i will be back with the paperwork after the general manager approves this deal." i waited a few minutes and he returned with all the appropriate material.

we started going over the paperwork pointing out all the add ons that we had agreed on. we got to the sub total and the money was exactly as we had agreed. but further down the paper was a total that was 450 dollars more than what we had agreed to. i pointed this out to the salesman and asked him, "what is this 450 dollars for?" he stated without batting an eye, "Oh, that is a drive off fee. everyone that buys a vehicle from us pays that." i just looked at him. i personally had never encountered a drive off fee before. so i stood up and said to him, "well, you can't say that any more." i proceeded to my vehicle never to walk into that dealership again.

last year, i tried to buy a vehicle in arkansas for the second time. the first time didnt work and i bought the car in indiana(my home state). i walked into the audi dealership telling them what i wanted and what i would pay. the price was very reasonable, something that i thought both parties would be happy with. they told me that they will only knock off 1K off the sticker. then he told me that if i didnt like that price, someone else will and they will buy it. the dealership also told me that there wasnt a vehicle with what i wanted in the southern us and that i would have to order it from germany. the wait on an order is three months. they also gave me a really low price for my trade in too. im thinking its because i was only 22 at the time. they probably thought i was just trying to get a free test drive or something. the salesman came off like i was wasting his time. i thanked them for their time and left. the next day i called the next nearest dealership which was in louisiana(sp?). within 5 minutes of talking to the dealer, they found the vehicle i wanted, gave me a better price than i was looking for, and said they could have it ready 24 hours after i gave them the deposit. they couldnt give an exact dollar amount on my trade in, but the dealer said that he could definately beat the previous quote.

overall, the la dealership saved me $2,700 and found the car that wasnt in the southern us. i later got a call from the arkansas dealer asking me how my decision to buy an audi was going. it was early in the morning and i worked a night shift, so i was a little out of it. i told them that the car was awesome and i thanked them for working with me. he sounded confused and said "oh, you already bought one??". i realized what was going on and told him that since they didnt want to work with me, i drove to a different state to pick one up. then i hung up the phone. everytime i walk into that dealership now, the salesman avoids me at all costs.

i know its long, but i think its pretty comical. i am now 0/2 for trying to buy a vehicle in arkansas.
 
Another good job dealing with dealers!

These stories remind me of a teacher of mine. She has an 02 or 03 ford explorer. the truck kind. It is in awesome condition and when she goes into the dealership they dont take her seriously because she is not a man and they dont offer her squat for her truck. It kind of bothers me how dealers can be with some people.

A few of my favorite car dealer comments ofd ignorance... followed by my answers

"I can't give you that much in trade... I wouldn't be able to sell it and make a profit..."

"We can't sell you the car for that price.... you are asking us to take food out of our children's mouths and the roof from over their head..."

"How do you expect me to pay my mechanics? My salespeople? The office staff?"

"The lot charge?... why that's the fee for keeping the vehicles cleaned while they are on the lot, but it includes a free detail when you buy it!"

I love car shopping... it's a game of psychological warfare.... :duel
