If you were starting over, what products/tools would you purchase?

Most people here have massive collections of products and tools, and I know much of that accumulates due to trying certain products out, then trying others out.

So my question is this: Based on your vast experience, if your garage was completely empty and you had all the funds you needed in order to purchase all the products you need to do complete details, what would be the complete product and tool list?

This includes polishes, sealants, clay, brushes, towels, orbitals, rotaries, pads, vacuumes, glazes, etc. Basically spec-ing out your ideal collection.

On one hand I'd probably just go with Optimum and a PC+Makita and some Lake pads, but on the other hand, I love trying stuff, it makes detailing fun. If I had to stick to the same products, it would get boring.

1. FLEX instead of PC

2. Quality MF towels

3. Collinite

4. Toro Electric Blower

5. Menzerna and Megs 105 & 205 instead of 3m - (never used Ultrafine so this might be an exception)

6. 303

This is getting difficult bc every year I use new /different products. There r products on the shelf that I didnt use this year, BUT i probably will use next year.

I think this thread might be better if u state which products would u eliminate.

I have AlOT of products that i dont use every time i detail but i still love those products.

It's easier to state what u dont like. - Now let me think of that list - will be back!

I guess I should rephrase. If you had 0 products right now, but wanted to prepare for full detailing capabilities, what tools and chemicals would you purchase for each of these categories:

1) Washing/Drying

2) Claying/Polishing

3) Sealing/Waxing

4) Quick Detailing

5) Interior Detailing

Feel free to add categories as you feel necessary to produce a comprehensive list.

1) wash/dry - Grit guards, two 5 gallon buckets, schmitt/grout sponge, WW towels, Megs Wheel brightner, Megs APC+, Megs Super Degreaser, various brushes.

2) clay/polish - Just about any clay, Megs 105/205, Menz lineup, 3m polishes. LC flat pads, LC Hydro-tech pads, PFW. Flex 3403, Makita rotary, PC.

3) seal/wax - Wolfgang DGPS 3.0, Megs 26, any DODO wax.

4) quick detailing - Finishkare 425. Dodo redmist (more of a spray sealant)

5) interior - Megs APC+, 303 products.

Also piles of quality microfibers.

Wash/dry: CG CWG, carrand microfiber drying towel. No favorite wash mit yet.

Clay/ Polish: Elastofoam bar definitely, and I love ultima's gel lubricant but it's way too expensive. Powergloss and IP for sure. I'd get a flex and rd85 instead of my pc and FPII.

Seal/wax: UPGP and the Paint Prep. No special wax yet.

QD: Ultima

Interior: No huge favorites, but Zymol vinyl cleaner is ok. No conditioner due to glare.

Here are some improv categories:

Window: I like Autosupermart's no name brand stuff for heavy cleaning, but for anything light, I don't see a huge difference with different products.

Engine bay: SC grime destroyer. Would definitely not buy p21s like I have now.

Brushes: I would have gone with swissvax

Tires: Just dilluted grime destroyer rather than a wheel product. For tires, Zaino. For a rim sealant, Zymol.

Wheelwells: CG fade to black.
