GOT PREP?
I had a problem with the adhesive fom the packaging staying on the towels even after washing. This ruined two towels per pack. I emailed them yesterday and here is there response.:xyxthumbs

Dear Mr. Christian,

I am sorry about the problem you had with our label wrapper for our micro

fiber 5 pack. Unfortunately, our wrapper manufacturer made a mistake on a

batch of our wrappers and used the wrong glue formula. We will send out a

replacement pack to compensate for the towels you could not use because of

the wrapper being stuck to the towels.

Pretty good service I thought!

Mine had the package glued on as well but I was able to get the glue off. I was thinking What idiot decided to package them this way. At least their customer service seems good. I use mine for wheels and door jambs. I am pleased for such a small price.

I love these towels for the little jobs. They are great for door jambs, window, wheels, etc. For a $1.00 a piece you can't beat them.

i have some and i use them for removing polishes and wax. Is this not a good idea? I bought 2 packs of those. My only other mf towel is a waffle weave drying towel. Should i get better mf's for removing polishes and waxes?

blitz-teg - In a one word answer, YES!

Check out the Autopia Store, CMA , and PakShak for the best towels out there. The Wally-Mart towels are like tissue when compared to towels from these 3 sources. There are other sources available, but based on mentions on Autopia, these are the top vendors (IMHO).

are there any local places that would carry good quality mf's? I've bought a few from premium auto care, but only my waffle weave drying mf is in good shape. (One of my friends thought they were shop towels and used them on his engine when we were doing an install.)

I think it just depends on the demand in your area. In memphis if you say microfiber people look at you like you are an idiot. You can't find a MF towel suitable for your paint for miles! The wal-mart towels are IMO only suitable for wheels, doorjambs, etc.

see, I have used them on my car and gfs truck, and they left no swirls. I know there are better ones out there, i just have more things costing me right now

Thanks for the information regarding the packaging and their response. I had some of the same towels but picked at the hardened glue until I got it out. But since I have enough MF's from CMA and Paksak I oly use them for interior wiping or wheels. never door jams... I treat that paint the same as the hood or roof ! My most recent purchase of MF's was at Bed bath and beyond... I picked up two 16'X24 Excello MF's for 10 bucks less a 20% coupon. I have not check these with a CD as I write this but before I cut the tag off I will. However, as I was examining these towels in the store I did discover that there were TWO distinctly different towels hanging side by side . The one's I got are as plush as my CMA Vipers . However, some were less plush and the fabric appeared to be abrasive to your skin. The tag on both listed the content as 80/20. So be forewarned. One other local source is Kragens... I believe they carry a yellow towel but it's nothing special.

The question of whether or not these MFs are "okay to use" on your precious car or not will never be resolved. Do a search for the other 3 or 4 threads about these Wal-Mart/Concordia towels and you'll see arguements both for and against. You'll have to try and convince yourself that one sways you more than the other....

I just wish we had them so cheap up here! :p

People will say no, but I use them to remove wax and polish and QD off my garaged black '96 Cobra, I've had no adverse effects. They are real absorbent and are a good all around MF towel.

I also use Turtle Wax MF's--I like them alot.

If they pass the CD test, they are fine. These wall mart microfibers are probably better than most 100% cotton towels out there.

Why is there such an insistance on using expensive products????

I bought a whole bunch of the wall mart microfibers (every time I stop by wall mart, I pick up a package- it's only $5.00). I use these microfibers on all my cars. Since I have a whole bunch, I change towels freqently during a detail.

Works great. Convenient. Cheap.

Dom, I am not sure if you have tried other MF towels that are available but I can tell you that the Pakshak towels or Neatitems towels don't even compare in quality to the Wal-Mart ones. The Pakshak and Neatitems are so much plusher and are all I use for wax removal, QD'ing and drying.

Trust me I like the Walmart ones too. I am always picking up a pack. I use them around the house or on the car for the cruddy door jambs, wheels, etc.

I just save my great Pakshak ones for my car's finish... :D

What aisle are these on? I went into my local walmart superstore and went through the entire car section and didn't see them...they had absorber, yellow flannel, and some terry cloth but no microfiber. I wanted to get their microfiber for my interior detailing. By the way I was kicking myself because I assumed walmart didn't have anything worth getting and so I was seeing some stuff I had mail ordered - absorber, 2000 grit sandpaper, fiberglass sanding pen, and touch up kit (primer and clearcoat). While I was there I did pick up Scratch-X though as I figure it would be good for those minor scratches I don't feel like getting the buffer out for it. Also one thing I love at walmart is the New Car Smell - its a little black aerosol tube. It doesn't stay in the car that long (a few days) but it sure is a nice touch for the detailing.

They are usually in the car care aisle on the bottom shelves. Not all Wal-Marts carry them. 2 I went did not. I finally found them at a local Wal-Mart..Hope it helps.

The MF towels I got at Walmart last fall and winter are MUCH nicer than the "5-packs" they have now; they were 3-packs, Made in Korea, held together with a staple. I found that if I trimmed the edge, I had a pretty good MF towel on the cheap (I think I had that tip passed to me). I could feel the towels before I bought them, they were varying in quality, but I simply picked the packs with the plushest, largest towels. They are very close to the green MFs (whomever makes those; Cobra?) in quality, not quite as good but dang close, and MUCH better than the ones they sell now.

I was able to find these 5 packs at a local Wal-Mart in Piscataway, NJ. I would imagine stores in the region would have them.

blackcaraddict is right on. I got a pack of the Concordia MFs and have seen no adverse effects. They do seem to lint some, even after hand washing a few times. I also just picked up some TW ones which seem to be some better than the walmart ones, but I haven't tried them yet.

I did the CD test with some WalMart towels that I picked up a while back. Turns out that the stiching on the edges scratched. Since then, I've made them strictly interior detailing towels.
