Some people will say anything just to talk. I'm one of them sometimes.I've never heard that using ice water has any positive effects on your wax. My car doesn't look any better after a coat of wax in the summer than it does in the winter. Washing your car with ice water after you wax it isn't going to make the wax last any longer. Especially if you just pull it out and park it in the sun again.

lawrencea said:Rinseing a car with cold water(not ice water) is a old trick that was used in the Simonize days. In the old days it would work great with the kind of paste wax that was used back then. Modern waxes are a completly different animal. There are a lot of tricks that were used in the 1940s and 50s that wont work with modern stuff. I find that the best thing to do is follow the directions.
