.... Uhhhh, yeah. Let's not forget that some of the largest wars, battles, and crimes of humanity have been fought over "the bible". No offense to those who believe in whatever religion, but I don't think replacing cell phones with the bible is going to do a whole lot of good anywhere.

If we "RECIEVED messages from the text" we would be killing gay people, keeping slaves, and treating women as sub-human creatures, amongst many other evil deeds.
"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
"However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way." (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)
"And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence." (Timothy 2:12)
People have suffered and died for centuries because of this absurd, immoral doctrine. *Nothing* serves to enslave the mind of mankind, prevent us from accepting each others differences and living in harmony with one another more than a "Holy Book" does.
